The dearest place I have ever stayed in Thailand. A joke. You have to share an outside bathroom with the mosquitos. You have mosquito nets in your room because the doors do not seal. No hot water wifi is nearly non existent beer not cold and Jack Daniels fake. Staff are very friendly and food good.

The hotel is in a great beach location. The restaurant is ok too, but the whole place needs urgent reconditioning and repainting.

A quiet resort right on the beach with beautiful wooden bungalows. Exactly my style. The people are very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant closes at 7.30pm. The food there is good and we would have liked to stay there longer.

What a lovely place. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even driving us to the aquarium/mangrove reserve and picking us up later. Despite my reservation about the open plan bathroom, it was beautiful and a delight and no bugs. We had both breakfast and dinner here and the food was delicious. The beach was lovely, quiet and clean. I would stay again in this place in a heartbeat. Thanks Chivaree for a wonderful memory.

If you want a Holiday Inn experience, this hotel may not work! If you want a traditional Thailand experience, this is the best place. The rooms are air-conditioned, beds are made every day, pillows are great, washroom and shower are outside but privately enclosed. It's very important to have shaded areas to recline and enjoy the ocean view. Many hotels lack shade, but Chivaree is great. The pool is ocean front, the beach is beyond excellent. Restaurant has the best cook on Chao Lao. Breakfasts are excellent but don't expect European sausages! Staff are kind and very accommodating. I will only stay at Chivaree and return yearly, sometimes for a month or more.

We are the couple in the holiday frist time in this hotel booking dCheck in without service mind from front manager not smile not thing can not pay credit card . Over charge motorbike for rent 400 thb. Per time (is not for 24 hours and bring back) rent in the morning have to bring back 16.00 pm. ( they did not inform us any more before rentals) Room was clean but toilet and shower is open air alot of mosquitoes in the room and toilet. Food was very good but very poor breakfast .

A great gem of a resort. Right by the beach. Beautifully rustic but fairly well maintained. Very picturesque with a natural feel rather than some of the other more gimmicky resorts in the area and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

All the cabins have private outdoor open-air bathrooms which we find to be a cool feature - it is the tropics so insects and mosquitoes are to be expected.

We had enquired directly at the resort for prices and availability and were offered a very reasonable price. From all the other places we have seen in the area, we would happily return to this one again.
