Stayed here for 4 days in mid March 2036 and have to say it was by far the best hotel we stayed in from the 5 on our travels. First off, every single member of staff are amazing, friendly and there to help with any request. Rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. The breakfast was by far the best we had from freshly cooked eggs, to pancakes, fresh yogurt and fruits to an array of different types of fresh breads and little desert pots to choose from. It definitely set us up for the entire day. 2 beaches available to use, left of the restaurant has direct access to the sea, the right hand side will require a slight walk to get in as the sea is quite rocky in parts. Couple things to note, would be nice if a staff member gave you a little introduction to the hotel, where things can be found and what times breakfast, lunch and dinner is served until. The beach and sea unfortunately was filled with plastic, quite shocking to see but unfortunately a reality. Could be worth some of the staff or even guests joining in to help clean things up as much as possible as it does end up on the beach. Lastly, there are 4-5 restaurants situated about a 10 min walk from the hotel property. The pizza place is owned by the hotel so you’ll see some familiar faces working there. Thanks to all for making our trip so memorable and we hope to be back again soon.

We're incredibly enthusiastic about the White Sand resort. The bungalows are fantastic, the location is great, the beach is amazing, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We would recommend booking White Sand to everyone. The location on the island is also excellent. You can walk to several other restaurants and shops, and by scooter, you can quickly reach a busier part of Koh Mak. The island has also stolen our hearts.

If you are looking to disconnect from work, the daily grind, and the noise of the world, this is the place. Koh Mak is one of the last islands in Thailand that hasn't been over-commercialized, and this resort captures that spirit perfectly. Don’t expect a 5-star "all-inclusive" mega-resort; instead, expect a very clean, well-maintained, and peaceful sanctuary. With only 20 bungalows, the beach is never crowded. The staff are incredibly friendly and always smiling. Pro tip: If you book directly through their website, breakfast is included for free! It’s not "luxury," but it’s high-quality, honest, and offered at a very good price.

If you want paradise, this is your place, however, if you are looking for something a little more luxurious, this is probably a little less boujee for you. We were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the resort was. Direct access to pristine sand and the most amazing crystal clear waters. The staff were incredibly helpful and very accommodating. The food was good, albeit, we found it difficult earing there more than two nights as it was a little bit samey. Ice cold beer, which is always a winner and some cocktails, tasty, albeit very improvised. There is a pool, however, located away from the beach which was my only negative amd the air in the rooms was not the best, so can get incredibly warm. We would definitely visit this resort again.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in November 2025 in one of the beachfront ‘Sunset bungalows’. To say I feel conflicted writing this review would be an understatement, there were many positives about the resort but also some quite significant things that could be better. THE GOOD:- Location - set right on a very nice piece of unspoilt beach, far from the madding crowds! Staff - all were really friendly and helpful Restaurant - good, fresh cooked local food Cleanliness - our room and all the public areas were very clean Moped Hire - allowed us to get out and see the island on virtually traffic free roads, reasonably priced at 250thb / day Free water & snacks in the room & free fruit available all day long at the restaurant all very much appreciated. THE AREAS THAT COULD BE BETTER: The Room - our room was one of the more expensive in the resort (i think because of the view) and was certainly very spacious but it felt basic in terms of the furnishings, everything felt like it had seen better days and needed upgrading / refurbishing. The roof terrace could be lovely but was the one area that we felt missed out on housekeeping - all leaving it feeling a little unloved. Hot Water - the only hot water in the bathroom is to the shower and ours just did not work properly! The hotel attended and attempted to fix it but really they didn’t make much difference, most days we had luke warm showers at best. I expected more than this! The Hotel pool is small, away from the main action of the hotel and not somewhere we wanted to spend time. In summary, there is quite a lot to like about this hotel but some things given some limited investment and focus could be much better. To be fair I think this is one of the best properties on the island (which is very small, beautiful and very much undeveloped) but for what we paid I think i expected more, other hotels we have stayed in for not much more per night on other islands on this trip have delivered a better all round comfort experience.

I stayed on Koh Mak in September and I was happy to see that the island was as beautiful and calm as hoped. I really enjoyed my stay since I try to avoid loud and crowded places and to escape the city.
Koh Mak had great and empty beaches with even better sunsets! I really enjoyed that there were so many sport activities like the gym and tennis and I also tried Muay Thai for the first time. It was really fun!

So I made a reservation with Mr Yothying Sudhidhanakul on the 9th of October for next December
I paid Deposit and confirmation received.
today I asked to add another night to my reservation and because I was asking for the room type and view he just cancelled my booking!!!!
Be careful don’t book direct with him!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this resort for the first time, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience! The room was impeccably clean, and the staff were fantastic—so kind and attentive to every need. I will definitely be returning!🥰🥰🥰
