Baan Katisod in Pai

The rooms are small, no chairs, no kettle. Only a bed, night table and a small clothing rail with two wire hangers on it. The bed is a mattress on a platform. Actually pretty comfortable. No hot water or anything like that offered. The owner refused to upgrade my room, although I offered to pay extra for the treehouse. We were given two towels, two tiny bars of soap, and a pump bottle of liquid hand soap, and two bottles of water. In two days, nobody emptied the trash or changed the towels. Or did anything. The bathroom is moldy. The floors in the room are made of a laminate that is poorly installed. The Wi-Fi is terrible and the wrong password was written on a sign on the wall.
The fan in the room is very loud and doesn’t seem to have a low setting.

The grounds are quite nice in a rustic way. spacious sort of courtyard with a treehouse in the middle. Tables and chairs Plenty of parking. Location is not bad.

The place is not expensive and it’s a big step up from sleeping in your car. However, I Will not be staying here again.

We booked 2 nights in winter. The hot water machine was working very badly (could get some little warm water), could feel the iron ressorts of the bed and slept badly. And surprise when look under the bed sheets : nice mushrooms. Will not go back there.
2km from the city was a good balance between not too far by walk and far enough to be quiet.

A nice cheap place to stay. Warning, do not rent scooters through the hostel!! They helped us get some scooters through a local company and I am pretty sure they are working a scam together. We had our passports held hostage for an extra 300 baht because they said we "damaged" the scooters. We took pictures of them before we rode them and also pointed out the dings on the vehicles before the scooter guys left. They still scammed us. Renter beware!!
