Palmyra Golden Beach Families and Couples in Monastir

Where to start: Firstly this is not a 3 star Hotel more like 1 or 1/2. Glad we didn't go all inclusive only b&b for 2 weeks as the food was terrible, buffet served every meal time and was bland and had no taste whatsoever we barely managed to eat breakfast and as we didn't know there was nothing around we paid around 55TDN or £7 per person 3 times we tried and gave up and ended going 30 minutes walk to nearby restaurant La Scala or walking 15 minutes to train station and paying around 20p to go into Monastir to eat. There was meant to be 3 bars only 1 was open all the time and that was for all inclusive guests and if you wanted a beer you had to go to the other bar which no one sat in only the staff seemed to sit in there and watch TV. The promise of WiFi was like dial up connection and the only place it worked was reception so everyone who wanted to go online would sit in reception area. The aircon in room never worked at all and, the daily cleaning consisted of towels being folded and beds being made and give 2 toilet rolls. No sweeping or mopping at all. We got new towels on our last day after 2 weeks. Look at pictures and the marks on walls were there when we arrived, the first time I've ever experienced a swing toilet door. One door to both the toilet and bathroom. There was poo from a cat or small animal in the communal mens toilet cubical next to swimming pool for 3 days and they even threw bleach on the floor in and around urinals but didn't clean the poo. They blast out music from around 11am and in the evening start again after dinner around 8pm and they only seem to put on a show when new guests arrive by coach. There is literally nothing around you can walk 10-15 minutes and take train to sousse or Monastir the trains run every hour but finish just before 9pm. The only plus side is the beach is 100m behind hotel and shallow water for about 400m and white sand but this hotel doesn't clean it's part properly you can see other hotels do. One night was very windy and next morning there was tons of sea **** all along the beach,but it only took them 4 days to clear it. Very poor dirty outdated hotel that could be lovely if ran correctly, too many people not doing anything for amount of guests it had. The only reason I would give it 1 star is some of the staff were friendly the man on the reception in the evenings was very friendly and helpful.

I have stayed in hostels, AirBnBs, and hotels. There has only been one place worse, and it was a hostel. The outside can be deceiving. When first arrived, about 4:30am, found ants all in the bathroom sink. They moved me to another room. lipstick marks are on the bed sheets. Went to use the bathroom later, there were ants in the toilette area (part is separate from sink and shower). I moved to a third room. Was not the best, but at least did not have ants. The food was pretty bland. Pretty much the same food every night. Was there for almost 2-weeks, and they offered fish 3x. Fish were the same type, just a little bigger than anchovies. Was surprise because a lot of fishery in the area. Location was terrible. Many hotels are along the road. To get anywhere, one has to take a taxi or a bus. I ended up taking taxis cause there were no bus schedules, even at the bus stops. Not a 3 star hotel.

Wifi working only in reception Rooms not cleaned during 3 nights Many things missing and we got them only after claim like drap, "windows blinds".. Ants in some rooms. To have food in restaurant this was the worst thing: you have to queue for long period and wait plate washing, bring food every few minute... You will not be able to have all food and fruit Pool ans see was acceptable.

Dining room impossible. Cutlery dirty, if anything is there. Used tables are not cleaned. Plastic cups and paper cups. Eating almost every day. Good rooms are a hit. From 5 o'clock in the morning beach chairs are occupied. In the evening until 24 o'clock loud music outside. So please take ear plugs. In short, just book another hotel!
