Happy Hotel Kalkan in Kalkan

Returned to Happy Hotel after 7yrs and it was still just as good. Very clean,staff perfect. Food at hotel very good. Sunbeds excellent with pool towels provided

My husband and I are almost at the end of a two week stay at the Happy Kalkan Hotel. We booked it last minute and we're just looking for somewhere quiet to get a bit of sun. The hotel exceeded our expectations given what we paid for our holiday. Breakfast was included and, although simple, had fresh fruit, bread for toast, cereal, and done hot options (omelette made to order). The room was well appointed but the only thing I didn't like was the half bath / shower which took ages to drain. A full shower would be preferable. The hotel is just outside the main town of Kalkan but this meant the neighbourhood was quiet and a taxi in was only 4 euros. There are options nearby for eating out but the food at the hotel was much better (and very reasonable). The hotel pool was never crowded and there was no silly fighting over loungers (perhaps because the hotel put out their own towels). Pool water was an excellent temperature in August and I loved to swim in it. By far the best thing about the hotel are the staff. The two lovely ladies who cleaned our room each day always had a beautiful smile for us and Servan and Hasan who did the food / bar service were really friendly and professional. Kudos to the chef too.

Not sure where to start but from the moment we arrived at 3am the staff have been nothing but wonderful. The room was clean and fresh although a little dated but that’s what you pay for. The only thing I would say could be a bit better would be breakfast. Theirs something to eat but gets a little boring. Maybe some pastries or something every now and again. The pool and view is stunning. Not once did I ever have an issue getting a sun lounger. The best part the bar staff! They were wonderful and so attentive! Food is reasonably priced along with the drinks. I really enjoy the gym and unfortunately there was no treadmill however this has been replaced and waiting to be built. I’ve never said I’d go back somewhere but I genuinely have looked at returning next year it was that good. Kalkan is a lovely place to visit and not as busy as the other resorts

14 year old daughter and me had a lovely week here. With it being a little further away from Dalaman it was a lot more chilled. From check in to check out we had a great time. Room was perfect for our week and was cleaned daily with fresh towel. Breakfast was ok. Chicken wraps for lunch were awesome! Big thanks to Hassan and Serkan especially for making our stay comfortable. These guys are full of great recommendations and advice. We walked down to the Lykia Beach club that was a 30 minute downhill walk. Don’t do this in your flip flops! We always got a cab back that was good value. Again the Lykia was super friendly and due to its links with Happy hotel this meant you got free use of beds and towels! Don’t forget your mask and snorkel! Managed to take in a scuba dive too that was good value and just down the hill We also went on the Kerkova boat trip that was good value, great food and lots of snorkel dips on the way. You even get a massive bed on the top deck with plenty of shade too! Keep up the great work. We will be back folks!! Gary and Daisy xx

Just returned from a fabulous week at the Happy Hotel Kalkan. This hotel is a little gem of a place. The pool area has gorgeous views and really comfortable sun loungers to Sit and soak up the beautiful sun and the large quiet pool gives welcome relief. Added bonus is no sun-bed wars each morning as there were plenty of beds to go around! However, What really made this hotel stand out for us was the staff at the hotel. They really Couldn’t do enough for you to make you feel welcome and really looked after. Hasan the bar manager was really helpful with recommendations of what to do in the local area and where to eat. And his team of helpers at the bar and restaurant were an excellent asset to the hotel. Huge well done to them all! Hotel is a little dated in places but beautifully clean and looked after well. Kalkan is a stunning place to visit and we know now why people return here year after year! Looks like we will too next year!

Spacious hotel with plenty of room to spread out unlike some hotels which pack people in dining rooms etc.

I have just had a holiday in this hotel and it is great, rooms are very clean and done every day, the location is lovely although I would recommend getting a taxi in to town and back, the staff were amazing very friendly and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast was lovely and the chef was great, the manager is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, I had a few meals on a night and they were excellent, spent most of the day by the pool that is spotless. I will certainly go back and stay here, view of the bay is amazing.

What a fabulous hotel and holiday. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Showers warm and good. Only niggle was the firm beds! Staff and service were friendly and excellent. Wifi fantastic, especially for working. Views were breathtaking. Pool wonderful. Air conditioning welcome. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Hotel add ones were fairly priced. Best feature is the manager Gurol! What a star. Helped and went out of his way for everything. To get anywhere, you will need a taxi, however reasonable priced. Free access to Likya Gardens beach club (sister hotel) on the sea was amazing for swimming and snorkelling. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Mark and Margie

We have just returned from a week's stay at the Happy Hotel. The staff are lovely and really helpful, in particular Guol the Manger was extremely helpful, giving excellent advice regarding tours, beach clubs etc ., and ordering taxis. Hasan the bar manager was exceptional. There pool area is excellent with comfortable sun loungers and towels provided. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable with air conditioning in both the lounge and bedroom plus a lovely balcony with spectacular views. Many guests return tho this hotel over many years. Although a good 20 minute walk from the main old town we found taxis easy to book and not expensive 170 tlr. We did not find this a problem as there were excellent restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The hotel may be seen by some as needing updating but we found it charming and the cleanliness and exceptional staff made our holiday so enjoyable.
