Many guests praised the extensive food options and quality at the buffet and restaurants, with particular mentions of desserts and variety. Staff members Ameera, Kemal, and the animation team including Mahir and Taskin received multiple compliments for friendly and helpful service. The hotel’s beach area, pools, and spa facilities, including Turkish bath and sauna, were highlighted as enjoyable and well-maintained. Families appreciated the children’s water slides, mini-club, and playground, as well as entertainment activities like mini discos and live shows. Rooms are described as spacious and clean, with some guests noting beautiful sea views from rooms and suites. Several reviews criticized inconsistent service quality, especially at buffet peak times and in bars where some drinks were unavailable or poorly made. Complaints about limited availability and poor atmosphere in a la carte restaurants were common, with some describing them as resembling canteens. Guests reported issues with overcrowding and poor management of sunbeds leading to early reservations by towels without actual use. Children’s entertainment was often described as insufficient, with few activities for older kids beyond water slides and a small indoor playroom. Some guests found the hotel isolated with expensive local transport options, and noted that language barriers with staff affected communication. Hygiene standards in restaurants and bars were questioned in negative reviews, including dirty cutlery and glasses. A few guests mentioned maintenance problems in rooms, such as blocked showers and ant infestations.

The resort offers 460 rooms in a single five-story building, including a variety of room types such as standard doubles, suites with sea views, and family suites. Guests can enjoy six restaurants (five a la carte), nine bars, and an extensive spa center with Turkish bath, sauna, and massage services. Families will appreciate the dedicated kids’ facilities including a mini-club for ages 4-12, children’s playground, water slides, and child-friendly menus with high chairs in restaurants. The hotel does not allow pets and restricts solo male bookings. This resort suits both families and groups seeking extensive facilities by the sea.

Location

Sunis Efes Royal Palace Resort & Spa is situated at 11, 3026 Street in Özdere, Turkey. The hotel is about 17 kilometers from the city of Kuşadası, a notable nearby urban center. The nearest airport is Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) in İzmir, located 34 kilometers from the hotel, making transfers relatively straightforward. The resort directly faces the Aegean Sea, with its private beach just 50 meters away, offering easy access for guests. This first-line beachfront location includes a 300-meter stretch of sandy-pebble shore with a platform for sea entry. Hi from Malaysia! I would like to give a shout out to an excellent food and beverage service from Ameera. Every breakfast and lunch she’s there with her wonderful and helpful service for the 5 days we were at Sunis. Thanks Ameera, I hope I got your name right, just in case, I also attach a photo.

We're from Canada, and do NOT speak Turkish, or any other language but English.
If you are English speaking, this review is for you.

We were with a group of 40 for a tour of the Sacred sites in Turkey. Excellent place for the 5 day retreat afterwards that included 350 people from around the world, as the food options are limitless, and the facility can easily handle the volume.

The "Cafeteria" style main restaurant has anything you could ever want to eat. Be prepared to resist overeating everything. Deserts are amazing. It all reminds me of our many cruise experiences. ... options! Turkey and chicken tended to be overcooked, and the food in Istanbul beats this, but for a 'cafeteria' it is amazing.

Beautiful location, excellent Turkish spa facilities, a decent gym (for a hotel), lovely beach to walk, clear clean Aegean sea (can't beat that), sunsets and sunrises that take your breath away, excellent restaurants, but you have to reserve your times at least a week in advance (free is you stay a week)... so think seriously about this ahead of time (there is Sushi, Chinese, Italian, Fish, and a few others)

My "Service" rating would have been a 3 out of 5 had it not been for 1 person at the front desk, named "Kemal". Most people spoke very little English, but Kemal not only was fluent in English but is the nicest most helpful man. We had a few things we needed help with during our stay and he went out of his way not only to solve them for us quickly, but checked with us regularly to ensure we were happy. He was always cheerful and calm even as our whole group descended on the front desk. I cannot emphasize this more..... ask for Kemal. Even his supervisor doesn't speak English. Tell him "Donna and David " sent you. We would return because of Kemal!

Bring your own pillow(s) if you are fussy like I am.

Oh, and Don't forget to be kind to everyone. A few Turkish words go a long way.

For the Americans who like to travel with Canadian flags or labels on their clothing, remember, you are representing OUR Canada, so act the part! We're a kind, considerate, patient and loving people mostly.

This hotel amazing, very clean lots of bars and restaurants. The pool area is good and never had an issue with finding sunbeds. The food was good. Entertainment was very good day and night. The staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you.

Would definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at Sunis Efes Royal Palace. From start to finish the staff were welcoming and attentive, creating such a friendly atmosphere. A special thanks to Eyyup for making our final night especially memorable. We would highly recommend this hotel, particularly the Italian restaurant, and we look forward to returning in the future.

hotel got all the possibilities to get all 5 out of 5, but they need to improve few thing. at the moment it 100% doesn't belong to Platinum or Luxe collection as it's advertised in UK market.
and it's definetely not Ultra All Inclusive.
traveled on the last week of May, and in my case Jet2 advertised than basically everything opened from 15th may, but any sort of improvement happened on our last day what was 2nd of June.
So, some good things:
- some nice staff
- quite nice buffet food (but for very limited time, will return to this)
- nice pool area and spa with sauna, hamam and steam room.
- nice views if you got sea view rooms.
- very cool Irish bar (but i believe it's closed on summer time)

Bad things:
-in buffet good food and some sort of service from waiters lasts for the 1st hour in buffet, if you'll decide to come after half time be prepared to get disapointed. some speciality foods served for very short time and probably max 50% of the guest can actually enjoy it, once served plate is gone - it's gone. main reason for this hotel is massively understaffed and this applies to bars as well.

- a la carrte. had an option to visit it twice but only one time was more than enough. and problem actually not in a food, but in a restaurants itself, what feel like you are sitting in some sort of a half empty canteen, where is no music or any other feeling of ''cozy'ness'' a killer thing is trolley food is served on, if you'll go there you will know exactly what i'm on about :)

- Branded drinks: another sad story, as in a reviews seen many people mentioning certain drinks, but couple of it was able to get just in some of the bars and for very limited time. lets say there is only ONE bottle of Chivas whisky within a whole hotel. with Jagermeister was bit better but definetely not available all the times. and you need to insist for exact drink as staff intend to fill your glass with local option of it, but as probably many knows - usually it's miles away.

- Kids activities.
any kids above age of 6yo will be bored as basically apart games room what is chargeable (ULTRA hotels i been had free gaming rooms) and only x2 pool tables within hotel, there is nothing else for them to do. haven't seen any kids activities outside with dedicated team at all. one and only fun actually was slides.
outdoor play area is only for toddlers.

- activities in total
please keep in mind hotel is very isolated. just a transport to bigger cities like Kusadasi will set you back min of 80 Euros. so if you will get bored it might get very expenssive to cheer you up

- animation
Nice team, but for some reason felt lack of activities, again over last couple of days it has improved, but we felt bit bored

some of the areas feels bit outdated.
we had family room, and in pictures it looked much much bigger. but this was least of our problems.

so, due to way it was advertised we had much much higher expectations for it. as if now i definetely would spend bit extra money and would go to other options what was available at the time and sits absolutely on a different league.

Ozan, Baris, Mahir - greetings from Jonas! :)

What a wonderful hotel in every respect. All the staff were amazing and and nothing was too much trouble. With a special mention to the guest relations team especially Elmira, Zeynep and a male intern. The food, service, room and facilities were nothing short of amazing. Thank you so much to every member of staff. I’m sure we’ll see you again soon.

Thanks again

The Most Disappointing Vacation I've Had in Turkey in the Past 10 Years — Speaking on Behalf of a Group of 20+ People

This was, without a doubt, the most disappointing holiday I’ve experienced in Turkey over the past decade. I'm writing this review on behalf of a group of over 20 people, and unfortunately, it’s difficult to mention many positives.

To start with the few good things: the hotel has a nice design and the rooms and common areas were generally well-maintained and clean. Special thanks to Sedef, who kept our room spotless every day. However, my parents' room had an ant infestation, so even cleanliness wasn't consistent across all rooms.

Food and Dining Experience
The food was mediocre at best and nearly identical every day. Grilled items and fish required waiting in line for 10–15 minutes, and many dishes were gone within 10 minutes of the restaurant opening, never to be replenished. The overall quality and taste were poor. Desserts looked different but tasted exactly the same. I am certain that some 3- or 4-star hotels offer a much better variety and taste.

Hygiene and Cleanliness
The hygiene standards at the restaurant and bars were appallingly low. Cutlery and plates often had visible grease and looked unwashed. We had to return drinks almost daily due to dirty glasses that were greasy and had residue from previous use.

Pool Bar and Drinks
There were always long queues at the pool bars, many drinks were unavailable, and cocktails were badly made, if available at all. The reusable plastic cups were so old and worn out that I won’t even describe them—it’s enough to say just thinking about them turns my stomach.

Children’s Entertainment
The so-called kids’ entertainment was nearly non-existent. Apart from a trampoline and a small water slide, there was nothing. The indoor kids’ area was just a room with a table, chairs, and balloons. Occasionally, the staff gathered the children to draw under an olive tree in the blazing heat—for about 15 minutes. The evening kids' program lasted 20 minutes and repeated the same songs every night. My child was pushed off the stage during one of these dance sessions, and if it weren’t for another parent who caught them, they could’ve hit their head badly. Other kids weren’t as lucky—some were injured on the water slide with split heads and dislocated shoulders.

Adult Entertainment
There were virtually no activities for adults. We only saw the so-called “entertainment team” three times during our entire stay. One time we overheard that a Zumba session had started, but by the time we got there, it had already ended—it lasted five minutes.

The Sunbed Chaos
And now, the cherry on top: the complete lack of control over sunbeds. Every morning at 7 a.m., people would start “reserving” sunbeds by placing towels on them. By the time we arrived after breakfast, all the sunbeds were taken—yet no one was actually using them, just their towels. I personally spoke to the hotel manager twice about this issue, and absolutely nothing changed.

The same practice happened during dinner—tables were “reserved” by placing glasses of cola on them ahead of time.

Management and Conclusion
Hotel management is clearly failing at their job. The standards have significantly declined compared to our previous stays, and I strongly believe the former management team from 2019 should be reinstated. Back then, everything was outstanding—unlike now.

It was a really good hotel and we had a pleasant stay with my family.
Unfortunately I have lost my sunglasses which is a reminder of a dear friend at the last day and I could not find it again. It would be great if you let me know in case you find a Prada sunglasses 🕶️
Thanks!

We have had an unbelievable time at Sunis Efes. The entertainment team has been excellent, there has been events all day, from a foam party, to a Colombian dance group, then to live music. There has plenty of entertainment and they have been very interactive and friendly, especially taskin! The bar staff have been amazing always full of joy and happy to help. We have had a brilliant time at this hotel, and will definitely be returning
