DETAILED REVIEW

I stayed here for one night. The location is the best aspect of this hotel. It’s in the center of Kutahya’s core, just a few minutes’ walk from the cafe streets and Sevgi Yolu. There are bus lines nearby, and it’s about a 10-minute taxi ride to the otogar, depending on traffic. The taxi driver took his sweet time navigating the parking lot at the otogar to up the fare, but that’s a whole other thing.

The room was okay. It took a long time for the AC to actually cool down the room. When I arrived, it was at 25°C, or 77°F. That’s far too warm. It literally took five or six hours to cool it below 20°C. The bathroom was nice enough, and the bed was comfortable.

I made my reservation through Booking.com and paid in full. For some reason, Hilton double-charged on a different credit card. When I spoke with the front desk person (whose English was very impressive, by the way!) he noted he saw the double-charge but would need to contact his manager. I asked if I needed to stay there and mentioned my bus was leaving Kutahya in about 45 minutes. He said I did not need to wait and they would call me. They never did call. As you can see, the charge went from “pending” to being posted on my card.

Later that day, I contacted them via Booking.com. They did not respond. A day later, on Sunday, August 31, I followed up. As of Thursday, September 4, 2025, I have not received any contact from the hotel, neither on Booking.com nor WhatsApp. This is extremely disappointing for two reasons: 1) Turkish hospitality is often considered some of the very best in the world. This is not living up to my expectations of and that which I have previously experienced of said hospitality; and 2) Hilton is a fantastic brand, and this neglect of a guest is extremely disappointing.

I have started a dispute with my credit card company to reconcile this because the hotel has refused to communicate with me. While I would recommend this hotel based solely on its location and adequate room, be very careful about how you reserve a room.
The atmosphere at Hilton Garden Inn in Kütahya was adequate, though nothing particularly noteworthy stood out upon arrival. Our check-in was late at night, and while the reception staff handled it professionally, they may have been tired which could explain the lack of enthusiasm. The overall vibe of the hotel is business-like and corporate, with subtle nods to the region’s traditional charm through the use of beautiful Kütahya-made ceramics that are dotted around the space.
Our room was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. In terms of amenities, we tested the Wi-Fi, which was impressively fast, making it ideal for business or personal needs. Other facilities such as the elevator and air conditioning functioned smoothly throughout our stay.
While the hotel has a fitness center, we did not visit it and cannot comment on its condition or features.
We ordered room service during our stay, which included a walnut and blue cheese salad, a fruit juice drink and wine. The salad was presented well and tasted fresh.
Breakfast was a standout feature of our stay. The buffet selection was diverse, offering fresh fruits, vegetables, a variety of jams and spreads and tasty hot food options such as chips, potato croquettes and börek. Guests could also enjoy live-cooked dishes prepared by the chef adding a personalized touch - we experienced this and were made some nice food by the chef. In general, the presentation of the food options in Kütahya-made ceramics was particularly endearing and enhanced the dining experience.
A special mention goes to Betül, the guest relations host, who greeted us and other guests by name. Her warmth and attentiveness made the breakfast experience especially pleasant and left a lasting positive impression.
While the breakfast and room comfort were highlights, the overall experience at Hilton Garden Inn in Kütahya felt average compared to other Hilton locations. The lack of an exceptional welcome or standout moments during check-in was noticeable. However, Betül's exceptional hospitality, the use of local ceramics, and the quality of the breakfast offerings are worth appreciating.
Final Score: 3/5
