The Calypso Cave in Uerguep

I am writing this review for both CALYPSO CAVE HOTEL & KBR TRAVEL as im pretty sure it is the same people running it! I booked CALYPSO CAVE through an Instagram ad which looked amazing. It was said to include everything from the room with a pool & fireplace to all the tours & airport transfers. They even agreed to supply us with a birthday cake upon our arrival included in the fee. 3 days before we were due to fly out for my partner's birthday they contacted me and told me there was a problem with my room and that they would relocate us to another room. I wasnt happy but they went out of there way to find me a great alternative. What they failed to tell me was that it was in a COMPLETELY different hotel. We get picked up from the airport and to our surprise, we get dropped off at another hotel. To say we were confused was an understatement! We call the lady who was dealing with the whole booking "Kübra" who tells us that the location is correct and that she told me it was a different hotel! She did not specify this to me or why would I be so confused!? We then check into the hotel and are asked to pay the room fee to which we obliged. We then asked the hotel staff about our booked tours to which they had no idea. No cake was present and was delivered only after I had to remind them of it - with an extra non alcoholic champagne to make up for the inconvenience. For the next 3 hours I am on the phone to both this lady Kübra and the "travel agency" to which we were referred to (though I highly suspect it was a company run by the same woman). During these hours they then ask me for the full payment of the whole trip but fail to deduct the hotel fee I had just paid! After explaining that I already paid the hotel they then tell me off for paying them and basically make me feel as though they are not in control of anything. This made us feel totally lost and uneasy. I then told them that I would like to cancel the tours with them as I had enough of the arguments and waste of time of my precious 3 day holiday. They then threaten me with "breach of contract". There was no contract. And if there were, they broke this contract themselves by placing us in a different hotel. As we just wanted to rest and enjoy the city I eventually just gave in and told them to go ahead with the whole promised deal. The tours were a joke. 25 mins was given to places which needed at least 2 hours and then we were left to our devices at any "shopping" opportunity. The tour guide gave basic information and left us to our devices whereas other tours seemed to have really detailed experiences. The tour I was promised had one last stop which I asked the tour guide about but was told that it was not on their agenda. I showed her the messages from the tour company and asked if we could possibly stop off there as this is what I had paid for and the place was only up the road from where we were. In the end they did not stop off there and this part of the tour I paid for was not fulfilled. After the tour I contacted the travel agency and they told me that the tour guide told them that we had stopped off there! Just lies! I felt like this experience was a complete con and would never want anyone else to experience this again. It has totally put us off the area of Ürgüp too! The hotel we were placed in was smaller than originally planned and had ventilation issues (underground cave room) - though the staff there done all they could to try to make this bearable. A separate review was written for that hotel. My advise for anyone travelling to Cappadocia is to book a hotel in the city of GOREME (as this is the central point and is lively). Once you are in the city, you can arrange all of your tours and transfers how you like and you are less likely to be conned! - After writing this review I am now getting harassed by Calypso/KBR Travel and have had to block them! This experience is one that I cannot wait to forget.
