Reviews
From the moment you arrive, the hotel’s warm hospitality stands out. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, always ready to help with local recommendations, tours, or even arranging an early morning wake-up for the famous hot air balloon views. Speaking of views, this is where Castillo Rojo truly shines—its terraces provide stunning panoramic scenes of Cappadocia’s unique rock formations, especially magical at sunrise.
The rooms are thoughtfully designed, combining traditional cave-style architecture with modern comforts. They’re clean, cozy, and full of character, though some guests might find certain rooms slightly compact. Still, the ambiance more than makes up for it, giving you an authentic Cappadocian experience.
Breakfast is another highlight. Served fresh each morning, it features a generous spread of local Turkish flavors—cheeses, olives, fresh bread, fruits, and hot dishes—best enjoyed while overlooking the valleys.
Location-wise, the hotel is well-positioned for exploring nearby attractions, with easy access to Göreme and other key sites. It strikes a nice balance between being peaceful and still close to the action.
If there’s any downside, it’s that during peak season, it can get busy, and terrace seating may fill up quickly. But with a bit of planning, this is easy to manage.
Overall, Castillo Rojo Cappadocia Hotel is a fantastic choice for travelers seeking a cozy, scenic, and authentic stay in Cappadocia. It’s especially ideal for couples or anyone wanting those postcard-perfect views right from their hotel.
After the first night, we informed the reception that our jacuzzi wasn't working, and they upgraded our room to the imperial cave suite with jacuzzi and fireplace. It was lovely and we appreciated the kind gesture. They also helped us with luggage as we moved rooms (to Room 401), and it was all a seamless experience despite the mild inconvenience.
The rooms we stayed in were always warm even in winter, and we never found anything to be lacking. Just a note for light sleepers, Room 401 is along the stairs/walkway down to the lower levels, so if there guests who come back late at night and are loud, you will most definitely hear it!
Breakfast selection was simple but sufficient, with an espresso coffee machine I really appreciated after drinking Turkish coffee for a week!
A small note that the bathrooms often smelled a little bad, perhaps it's the sewage system. Not a big problem tho. It's barely noticeable.
We rented a car and drove, so getting in and out of town was never a problem. Parking is available at the hotel, and is free, if you drive!
The roads leading in to the hotel are a little narrow, so definitely not for non-confident drivers, but we found it ok.
I don't really have photos of the room to share but rest assured the photos provided by the hotel are real and accurate.
The only issue might be the distance from Goreme town or nearby restaurants.
However, the hotel itself and the service were absolutely five-star! The rooms are full of character, spotless, and smell wonderful. The views are simply breathtaking.
