I will not say anything new: a very good location, all sights are minutes away. Friendly guys at the reception. The rooms are small but clean and well maintained. The food is absolutely expected quality and a lot of it. There is no excess in food, and we didn’t want to. Our only complaint (and we voiced it to the owners) is the quality of the Internet. To which they explained that it was the fault of the city, which had built a bad line. They promised to fix it next time) In short, we recommend!

I first stayed here with my family as a very young child and then again as teenager and loved it every time, so on a recent trip to Istanbul with a friend, I knew immediately where I wanted to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the view from the terrace is incredible. The most important part of any trip to Turkey is the breakfast, and here it was amazing as well. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and it's also fairly easy to reach the hotel using the Hava Ist bus, though you can also easily take a taxi here. I highly recommend Alp Guesthouse, especially if it's your first time in Istanbul and you want to see all the sites in Sultanahmet.

This was my third time staying at Alp Guesthouse. I first came with my family many years ago when I was small. We loved it so much we came back again when I was a bit older. I had fond memories and wanted to come back for my most recdnt trip. Every time I've stayed here, I've had a great experience. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the breakfast is delicious, the view from the terrace is amazing, and the location is excellent for sightseeing. I highly recommend!

A Cautionary Account for Western Travelers
This establishment leaves an indelible impression — and not in a good way. From the moment of arrival, one is met with an undercurrent of prejudice against visitors from Western countries that borders on open hostility. The atmosphere is unmistakable; the staff make no attempt to conceal it.
When I attempted a simple exchange in English, the employee abruptly claimed total inability to understand or speak the language, then promptly assigned me to what can only be described as the worst room on the property — a gloomy semi-basement space with a view fit for a storage unit. This petty act of disregard perfectly set the tone for what followed.
The indifference began even earlier: despite confirming airport transfer in advance, no one arrived to collect me, nor did anyone respond to my repeated messages. Such disregard for basic communication and hospitality is emblematic of the operation as a whole.
The dining situation only deepened the disappointment. “Breakfast included” is a hollow promise — expect a rotating array of the cheapest, most processed meats imaginable: limp slices of bologna, rubbery hot dogs, and the same sad hard-boiled eggs day after day. The so-called salads are an affront to the term, drenched in an unidentifiable white paste that renders them inedible. The sight of tomatoes and coffee served side by side at breakfast was the final bewildering touch in an already dismal culinary experience.

Overall the hotel is extremely good value and location is fantastic.
We stayed in a family room which had lots of space and a view out the front of the hotel. The location is only a 5 minute walk from both the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque (although a bit further from public transport). The area surrounding the hotel is very touristy and prices (food quality, or lack of) reflect this.
The only negative at the hotel is the breakfast room. When we visited in April the temperatures were between 5 and 8 degrees C and the hotel only has a very small (6-8 tables) indoor space for breakfast. Unfortunately these filled up far too early and unless you are there for it opening, you'll either need to come back or eat breakfast out.

It is really beautiful! And if you are looking for pubs the hotel location is perfect because is in a street that has a lot of them! Really nice neighborhood.

Not recommended. As we entered our room we found hair in the bed, a completely clogged sink and poop stains on the toilet. The staff was nice and told us that as soon as we left the cleaning crew would re-do our room. Once we came back the room was good, but the sink was still unusable. The breakfast looks great except for the literal COBWEBS and MOLD on the bread and the orange juice that was so chemical my risk of cancer just went up by 40%. I would stay away from here because many hotels in the area offer a much better experience for a little higher price. At least the staff is really nice.
