This was a lovely traditional guesthouse. Our room was very comfortable and the bed was great.
Many attractions are within walking distance and there are lovely restaurants all around.
We were lucky in that our room was on one of the lower floors and we only had to climb to the top of the stairs for breakfast.
Breakfast was plentiful but could be improved with the addition of orange juice and eggs cooked to order.

Convenient location of Sultanahmet area, very close to Hagia Sophia and the Topkapı Palace, surrounded by restaurants. Probably my only complaint is the thin wall between the rooms. other than that, I enjoyed my stay.

Excellent location, with all the main attractions within walking distance. The breakfasts were good and tasty. The room was clean and cozy, though a little small.

It was a bit hard to find at first, as it's located in an alley behind the main street. The uphill and downhill cobblestone paths made it difficult to push luggage. Like many old buildings in the old town, there's no elevator, but the front desk staff kindly carried our luggage up to the third floor. Besides breakfast hours, the rooftop mini-restaurant offers self-service coffee throughout the day. The breakfast was rich and varied, a much better experience than typical motel breakfasts in the US or Canada.

The location is very near to Hagia Sophia and blue mosque and also the stop for Havaist bus (airport bus). The route is flat so dont worry about going up on hilly road.
The room i booked is 201, hence it's on 1sf floor,so the noise from outside is tolerable. But i notice there's room located at ground floor level, so it could be noisy a bit for people staying kn ground floor.
The breakfast spread is soooo gooodd with lots of variety, fruits, many choices of homemade jams and facing the sea.it's my favourite time of the day.having coffee and looking at the sea and seagull.
There's no lift but the staff will help to carry your beg to your room.
The room is clean, the bed is nice and comfy.
There's also books for you to read on the terrace.
Overall, im very satisfied and pleased with my stay here.

We had a wonderful week at the Marmara Guesthouse. We booked quickly to celebrate my birthday in Istanbul and were so touched by the warm and personal confirmation for a sea-view room. Every morning, breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a delightful surprise—varied, delicious, and of excellent quality.
At such a fair price, we didn’t expect too much, but we were more than pleasantly surprised: friendly, clean, personal, with a truly family-like atmosphere, yet always professional. We would love to come back and enjoy it all again.
