Morskaya Zhemchuzhina in Odessa

Looks nice from the outside but the bed was not comfortable (old, hard, no box spring) and the sheets were itchy (probably from low quality washing powder). The room also smelled a little funny (like stagnant water) and there were tiny flies coming from... somewhere. The walls of the rooms are very thin and you will easily hear your neighbor. Also in my room only 1 of the 4 lights had a working bulb and there was no lamp for reading in bed. The receptionist was very sweet though and spoke sufficient English. Still, the hotel had a very limited beach and what it does have is surrounded by public beach which is constantly crowded. I would never recommend this place.

The only plus of this base is that it is located on the seashore. The door to the room is a regular interior door with glass, the room only has air conditioning and a tiny refrigerator and a TV the size of a tablet. There are no dishes in the room, not even a glass to drink water, not to mention a kettle like in most hotels. The beach is dirty with an unpleasant smell, the beach is not looked after. Everything on the beach, sun loungers and umbrellas, is paid, although they are owned by this hotel. As for the cafe, there are 4 options to choose from, prices are like in Kiev restaurants, it works for 6 hours a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The barbecue is paid, you may not be able to sit at a table with your family in the evening, as there are very few tables and they are occupied and generally in a deplorable condition. As for the tables on the roof, there was 1 table and 2 chairs above us, there was no light at all, as the light bulbs were unscrewed, and there was garbage (bottles, dried-up food scraps) lying on the floor, which no one had cleaned for probably a month. One plus of this hotel is the location.

This is a terrible hotel; I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! We stayed with two couples with children, and both rooms were terrible. In our room, all the slats on the double bed were broken, leaving holes in the mattress. There was no water pressure in the faucet or shower, and for several days, the water didn't even reach our floor. Plaster was falling from the window. No one cleans the stairs, there's sand everywhere, and there's no broom to clean it up yourself. Friends stayed in a two-room suite, and their mattresses were torn, the bedding was stained and torn in places. The air conditioning didn't work at all. The receptionist was rude and didn't respond to any of our comments. Also, be prepared for paid parking on the premises and the need to constantly move your car if someone leaves, which happens every day! The pool is just a name, but the water is dirty and murky. When you go out to the beach, there's always a puddle because there's a faucet there to wash your feet off the beach, but there's no drain, so it all flows onto the beach. Avoid this hotel.
