The Staff are very polite and friendly.
The first problem was the room which is only accessible by a mounting goat

POSITIVES:
Perfect location, friendly staff, rooms were clean and modern with biscuits, tea/coffee and mini bar. Very comfortable soft bed.

NEGATIVES:
Both the room and bed were quite small and cramped and fan in the bathroom wasn’t very powerful

Parking needs to advertised as limited and street parking. as we found priority was given to people visiting the hotel and not guests staying.
10.11.2025 Yvonne
Clean room and very welcoming staff. Breakfast available at extra cost.
23.10.2025 Bernard
Perfectly acceptable well maintained property for a relatively inexpensive night in the Bristol area
04.10.2025 Fiona
Well situated for restaurants in the evening. Bus stop to and from Temple meads outside the hotel. Older property well maintained, friendly helpful staff. Lovely bar in the evening. Breakfast delicious. Visited 2 weekends in a row for rugby. A lovely 30 mins walk to and from Ashton Gate. And about 30 min walk to the Amphitheatre area.

A convenient, clean, friendly hotel. Room was a little small but was only in it to sleep. Would recommend

Clifton, where the Rodney is located, was perfect. We felt very safe walking around and found transportation easy to access. The hotel is very proud of their restaurant. We found it good but not excellent. We wished that we had not had breakfast included as there are lots of others options near the hotel.
The room was very clean… the bathroom was great with a huge tub!! Housekeeping kept everything fresh and clean. The front desk staff were awesome. Friendly, helpful and very welcoming. 4 1/2 out of 5!!
ps. Check out the Clifton Suspension Bridge while you are there!!

Its location was ideal for what I needed. The village around it was fantastic, lots of coffee shops and restaurants

Cosy wine bar in the centre of Clifton Village with a good atmosphere, always seems to be busy.

Really gone down hill.

It used to be a nice, intimate wine bar but now it's a shadow of its former self.

Nice bar, service is good. However I don't feel it compares well to the other bars/pubs and restaurants in clifton.

Tucked away pub, a local knowledge venue. Very popular with those who have it. On the Casque-mark Ale Trail and very busy at weekends and holidays.

Staff very happy and pleasant nice to be asked " how are you today". Good selection of ales but a bit expensive.

Loved this place. The staff are really lovely and the beer is great! Very cosy pub!

Great little place for a couple of pints and good selection of ales, but unfortunately let down by the food - only veggie option on the menu was a salad and zero gluten-free options.

Great food and perfect location for a big gathering so long as you book a table in advance. Nice selection of wine and beer available from the bar

We booked a table (7 of us) for lunch on Sunday. Once there we found out that there had been a mistake and they hadn't reserved the table for us. Luckily two of us were running late. Everyone ordered beef/chicken Sunday roast, I ordered the starter you can see on the pics. The sunday roast was good, not the best we've tried, but good. My starters were actually quite good, I must say. I'm happy with that, although they didn't have the cauliflower I wanted to order.
So everything went fine, the place is nice and cosy, but the service was very slow, despite the fact they told us there was no waiting time at all. Two waiters, but quite slow, deserts, slow, even slow bringing the bill. And once they brought it, we were sat there for a while and no one came to tell us that their card machine was not wireless. One of us had to go and ask what was going on,and then they tolds us that.
Nice place, nice good, very slow service for no reason. The biggest yorkshire pudding though, and my mates enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding.

Looks and feels like a cool pub. Well furnished, and seems quite lively. Not too badly priced.
30.08.2017 Sally
Oh dear! This was probably the worst dining experience I have ever had to endure. This is one of the nearest places to eat to the Chesterfield Hospital in Clifton and I arrived with a friend who was hungry after a fasting appointment. Nobody welcomed us, nobody gave us a menu, nobody came to the table to ask if they could help. So we went in search of food and drink from the various staff we found - one busy on a computer and another behind the bar. Having ordered our food, we then waited 40 minutes for our lunch...a sandwich and some goujons and chips. The sandwich was inedible as it was so soggy and the aubergine was still raw. The music far too loud for comfortable conversation even when we asked for it to be turned down. If it had been busy, we may perhaps have understood, but there were only a couple of other people there. And now we understand why!
