Reviews
The location is absolutely perfect being central (the airport bus drops you off beside it) with everything you need close by, from pubs, restaurants to takeaways and shops making it easy to get around and enjoy the area. The river walk was lovely at this time of year and It's also easily within walking distance to the xmas market.
The hotel itself was clean, modern, and comfortable, with a relaxing atmosphere throughout. And if the weather is bad they will also lend you a brolly.
Overall, a brilliant stay and I’d happily return. Highly recommended!
The hotel itself needs a update. The carpets in the superior room were stained and furniture dated. Lighting wasnt great ( very low) and no sockets next to bed? No shower gel/ body wash in the shower. The bed itself was comfortable. Staff were friendly enough but attention to detail was misding from what you'd expect for a Radisson hotel. The hotel bar was souless and seating not arranged very well. Breafast buffet selection was good but coffee machine just had an Out of Order sign on it with no back up coffee dispenser/ pot which really isnt good enough. My wife had also ordered a package including wine in the room on arrival which she had confirmed with the hotel before arrival but wasnt there and they had no knowledge of.
Overall its a very basic hotel in a good loaction and staff are friendly but its dated and overpriced for what you get.
I had to remind them that I had traveled by train and already paid, making it clear that their mistake did not justify leaving me without a room. After further delay, they admitted they would have to call the booking site, leaving me to wait even longer while they sorted their own mistake. I insisted on placing my luggage in the room in the meantime, which they reluctantly allowed.
When I finally entered the room, it was shockingly dilapidated. Scratches marred the countertops, walls had stains and wet streaks, and the carpet was worn. Later that evening, after a long day in Bristol, I attempted to shower, only to find there was no hot water. I was forced to dry off, redress, and call reception at 10 p.m. to be moved.
The bed was unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed caliber: two single beds pushed together with a harsh ridge that made sleeping impossible. For £15 per person, I paid £30 for breakfast, which was frankly disgraceful. The sausages were of poor quality, beans were not even branded, and the only egg option was scrambled—no fried or poached. The fruit appeared old and dry, the selection was minimal, and the entire offering was far below the standard expected.
This hotel’s reputation seems more like a claim than reality. Recent reviews mirror my experience, suggesting the hotel relies on past reputation and possibly falsified reviews. I have stayed in a suite before, which was luxurious but not worth triple the price. Even then, it wasn’t perfect, but this time was unforgivable. I would never stay here again unless there were drastic changes. I’d much rather save £100 and stay at a Premier Inn or Travelodge, or opt for the Marriott nearby, which delivers far better for the same price. I would strongly urge anyone considering this hotel to avoid it until serious improvements are made. I would expect a full refund for such an appalling experience, but I doubt that will be forthcoming
The room was nice and quiet, no external noise.
Tea tray was ok, but there were no decaf drinks. I went to reception to get a hot chocolate.
They have toiletries in case you forget anything.
There was a great fruit bowl and flavoured water in the reception area.
Parking was easy once you knew where the entrance was. £20 per night, so not cheap. I also didn't realised there was a charge for parking when I read the booking info.
The bed was huge and very comfortable. There are no power sockets near the bed. Well there was one that the lamp was plugged into but for some reason it wasn't a UK socket. This is an issue if you have a medical device. I needed to call reception for an extension lead.
The bathroom was very spacious with fantastic lighting!
Other than the unattractive view out the window and the aircon, I would highly recomend!
