Really nice hotel with great location. Just across the train station with 1 min to walk

The hotel is really classic and decoration is really interesting. The wall is full of book and the lamp is decorated with old fax machines. Really cool

The bed is not very big but is quite soft. The room is small but somehow bath is big. Very pleasant experience overall. Good for stay over for the train.

Hotel Indigo Edinburgh offers a stylish boutique experience in a central location, just a short walk from major attractions and Waverley Station. The rooms are cozy and thoughtfully designed with modern touches, and the beds are comfortable for a good night’s rest. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere feels warm and welcoming.

Location is perfect; just opposite to the waverley train station; good service

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient. It's right opposite the train station exit, making it super easy to get anywhere. The hotel is also very thoughtful, even providing some snacks. If cost isn't an issue, I'd highly recommend it to anyone preparing for exams.

The hotel is almost directly opposite Edinburgh's famous medieval architecture landmark, making its location incredibly convenient. Compared to the hotel I stayed at in Edinburgh for the first few days of my trip, this place's location, location, location is truly prime real estate. Photos of the staircase and hallway decor can be seen in previous Trip.com reviews; the ambiance is good, but in person, I found that they were just printed versions, which felt a bit rough and not quite like the moving staircases from Harry Potter. Also, there wasn't an enthusiastic staff member to explain things to us. When I asked, they simply said, 'They're all famous historical figures from Edinburgh, you probably won't recognize them, and I don't know all of them either...' Fine, but it was a bit of a missed opportunity. The main part of the room I stayed in had an elevator, but there was still a small flight of stairs, as shown in picture 4. This is typical for historic buildings; even the castle hotels I've stayed in before were like this, so I can accept it. The room itself was still a bit small. The card on the desk mentioned the hotel group's strict cleanliness standards and offered re-cleaning if unsatisfied. During my stay in the UK, one thing I really dislike about hotel shower designs is the consistent half-glass partition. Even 2/3 would be better! It made me have to shower very carefully to avoid flooding the bathroom. I don't know where that design concept came from. The complimentary biscuits, crisps, coffee and tea bags, and glass bottled water were all of decent quality, fitting the hotel's class. I found the hotel staff to be quite pleasant, and the hotel's buffet breakfast plus a-la-carte options were all standard and satisfactory. If I get the chance to visit Edinburgh again, this hotel is definitely worth considering for a return stay!

I booked three rooms of the same type, but two of them were tiny; there was barely any space to walk around once my luggage was in. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the city center and close to attractions. The breakfast was pretty good too.

The location is fantastic, the room layout is very well-designed, facilities are complete, and the service is excellent. The staircase area is very picturesque; a kind and handsome gentleman even pulled us aside to explain the historical figures pictured near the staircase, though I didn't quite understand everything. Breakfast was amazing. I would definitely stay here again next time.

The hotel's location is fantastic, directly across from Waverley train station – just cross the street and you're there. It's incredibly convenient, right on Princes Street. Edinburgh's traffic is generally light, so crossing streets is easy. Compared to other attractions, the hotel is situated on lower ground. It's about a seventeen-minute walk to the Royal Mile, where most of the main sights are, and similar distances to museums and art galleries.

We were given a fifth-floor attic room, which was a bit of a downside as our luggage had trouble reaching it, but staff were on hand to help. The window in that room was particularly small, which meant the natural light wasn't great and the overall feel wasn't ideal.

However, the breakfast truly deserves special mention – it was absolutely fantastic, with the quality and service you'd expect from a five-star hotel. As for dinner, while convenient to eat at the hotel, the prices were quite high, and the food didn't really impress me, so I wouldn't recommend it. Just something to consider!

The location is excellent, right opposite Waverley Station, making it very convenient to exit from Princes Street. However, aside from the location, I was very disappointed with this hotel stay. I booked a room facing Princes Street via Trip.com, but the actual room I received faced the opposite direction, with scaffolding outside the window due to renovations. The window was also very small. The hotel was fully booked, so they couldn't accommodate a change. Thankfully, Trip.com eventually resolved the issue. I hope I don't encounter such bait-and-switch situations again. The public areas of the hotel seem to have been renovated, but the room facilities are old and outdated. The drainage was slow, the refrigerator door was broken, and the sofa had several holes, which was quite shocking.

Nice and clean, good layout inside. Big letdown is the lack of a ramp for access. I know there are other Costa stores within the Waverley Mall but the street level one has lots of steps. I'm sure there used to be a ramp access but not anymore.

Lovely food, great atmosphere, sweet and sour chicken was delicious and good portion sizes for the price, had to wait a little while to order but it was very busy and we got time to practice to chopsticks. Very happy and full :)

Hot and sour soup was smelly, staff was not very kind nor attentive, and the food was waaay too overpriced. Had much better takeaway food for half the price. Go somewhere else in the area...
29.12.2017 Anastasia
Disgustingly dirty which makes me doubt the hygiene of the kitchen. Needs a good deep cleaning or two. Waiters hardly speak english, are not helpful and that was established on at least 3 visits. Saving grace is the food which is delicious. Please train your staff and clean the hall!!!

Hmmmm! Very disappointing. Starter to share £7.80 each!! Minimum of two - consisted of per person 1 pork rib, 1 prawn toast, 1 spring roll, & 1 dim sum, oh & not forgetting the "crispy seaweed" . Not worth the price per head. Main course noodles were not cooked & very bland albeit with a taste a celery. Waiters didn't even ask if everything ok. As for the "owner", she was asleep behind the bar! Classy!!
21.12.2017 Lindz
One of the best for Dim Sum in Edinburgh. All the classics are there. I tried the lunch buffet one time out of curiosity, and it's good, but it's nothing compared to the dim sum entrees or the made to order a la carte dishes. Two can eat and be plenty satisfied for 25-35.
