Wingate by Wyndham Anchorage Downtown/Ship Creek in Anchorage

The hotel provides a free airport shuttle, which can need some time but provides great value given the distance from airport to town. American style breakfast was ok. Room was a bit overheating but they had heater and AC in rooms so that was ok. Also pool with rather cold water and gym as valuable addons. Service was good.

It was ok.

The good: Rooms were comfortable and spacious. My room (318) had a view of the river which my husband really liked. Rooms all have fridges and microwaves. There is a (small) pool which was heated to a decent temp. There is a guest laundry, $2 wash and $2 dry. You do get a breakfast but it's sparse. They also were able to help me with an emergency where I had to send a fax. That was very nice. Location decent, but if cold, it's a bit far to walk to any restaurants. You'd be better off at a hotel more in downtown if that is your goal. This is very close to the train station, trains do make noise but not bad and not in the middle of the night.

The not so good: Rooms not cleaned daily, or ever during your stay. So we finally figured out we have to set dirty towels outside the room, and our full wastebaskets. You have to ask for more towels, toilet paper etc as you need it. Breakfast is included but it's way less options than most Choice hotels would offer.

The room is big and the bed is big too. Call the hotel after arriving at the airport and wait in the shuttle bus waiting area. You can get on the bus in 15 minutes. The breakfast is also good. It is a 10-minute walk from the train station. The art museum has a free shuttle bus.

The size of the room is just right, and the hygiene is OK. The room I was given was on the side of the first floor. It was probably a promotional room, because I only stayed for one night. There is a river behind the hotel, and you can go fishing along the river. It’s also very meaningful to walk around both sides of the Taiwan Strait to see the local fishing culture. It’s a little more inconvenient to walk uphill for about 20 minutes from the city center, but it’s very close to the train station, and the hotel has a free pick-up service. This service is really good. , one of the reasons why I booked this hotel

Very convenient location

Pretty much on par for a Comfort Inn. Cheap and you can tell that it is. Outdated furnishings and fixtures. The shower curtain was too short and the shower mixing valve was piped backwards (H= Cold and C=Hot). Breakfast was acceptable, short staffed though so everything took awhile to get refilled. Seemed clean enough and the staff was friendly. Comfortable beds and the room seemed very clean. If I get stuck in town because of a canceled flight I might stay again.
