I stayed at this hotel as a single female traveler and was initially very impressed. The property is well taken care of, clean rooms, safe. Little details were spot on (phone charging outlets easy to get, a bidet, rolling table in the room, Roku, to name a few). Unfortunately, my 5 star stay was ruined in the morning. It was so incredibly loud. The loud rolling bags and doors slamming started at 7am. I was able to go back to sleep only to be woken up again by children screaming in the pool at 8am. The pool gate was slamming constantly while kids yelled. They're just kids, but the pool being central to the hotel makes the sound travel incredibly easily and loudly. This hotel really needs to close the pool until at least 9am. Most hotels I have stayed at open the pools at 10am for a reason. It was a truly a rude awakening.

The rooms are renovated and clean. The shower pressure is incredible! Pool and fire pit area are really nice. Has an onsite restaurant (Hai Noon), but we didn’t try it out. We walked from Home in the Rock without a problem. Short drive to Old Scottsdale and not too far from Tempe and Phoenix.

We stayed at the Papago Inn several years ago before it was remodeled, it was fine then if a little dated. We were a bit apprehensive based on some of the previous reviews but it’s a great location and economical. We were impressed, the courtyard/pool area is beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are updated and ours was spotless. The young woman who checked us in was friendly and helpful. You do have to pay a $10/night parking fee but we saw that at another motel down there road. The area is not sketchy as someone said, our favorite brewery is right around the corner. We definitely will return.

This used to be our favorite hotel, but after this stay we will not be returning.

We stayed for four nights and had towels replaced only once. Not a single time during our stay was the room cleaned. I had to repeatedly go to the front desk myself to get coffee and fresh towels. To make matters worse, on the one day staff did come in, some of my personal items were thrown away.

There is also a hidden $10 per night parking fee for an unsecured lot located behind the hotel, which was disappointing. The property has recently changed names and more than doubled its prices, but the level of service has clearly declined. While the hotel still has some old charm, it does not justify the current rates.

I also called the restaurant inside the hotel to place a takeout order and was told they do not offer food to go — which was surprising considering the restaurant appeared mostly empty.

Overall, there are nicer hotels in the area with far better service and value. Unfortunately, we will not be back.

Lovely, well-renovated mid century modern, 2-story, 3-star motel. Sparkling clean pool, extremely well designed rooms, many amenities, nice staff, super clean. Streaming TV, so you can use your subscriptions from home. Just kitchy enough to be cute, vintage airstream out front, the whole place feels like you’re in Palm Springs. The restaurant won a best award for 2025, James Beard chef, but it wasn’t open during our trip. Location is fine, good parking — nothing walkable, but only 2 blocks from the Scottsdale Rd bus north, or quick $8 uber to Old Town. We stayed 5 nights. Highly recommend staying here for a truly enjoyable budget choice.

Virtual check in. Never met a staff member. No soap near sink in bathroom. Coffee maker with no coffee. No instructions on how to use the heat/air conditioning unit. VERY bare bones. Cannot recommend. Will not be back. Recently under new ownership and it is obvious a lot needs to be done. Bad experience.

Their system of low or no staff on site doesn’t work. Twice we needed towels replaced and it was like pulling teeth. The second time, it took 30+ hours and five requests to get clean towels. Otherwise, the room was clean & comfortable but was never cleaned during our week long stay. Doubtful we’d stay there again.

Everything was great besides the pool is only open when they are there so from 10:30am-6pm. This isn't what was advertised in the app and isn't ideal if you want to swim earlier or later. The restaurant is very cool, but very expensive. The sheets and bedding are super uncomfortable, like paper. It has made me really appreciate my bedding at home and how soft it is lol. Overall everything was great, just minor things that were annoying but for the price and location, it worked for us and we were happy with our stay. It also felt safe, would stay again.

Amazing as always …since we discovered Sonder we try to stay here when available. At the Mariposa we happen to run into a hidden gem of a restaurant, called Hai Noon. Highly, Highly recommend, food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was perfect..

Dystopian vibes. There’s no one to greet you at check in. It’s great if everything goes as it should. If not, you’re on your own with a digital code to get in and an off site call center to help. ***Be advised you will have to upload pictures of your face from all angles and pictures of your government issued ID to get the entry code or forfeit your money spent.**** Is it even legal to require this? Seems like I have a right not to submit my likeness in order to do business or I should have a right to back out with a refund. Creepy as hell and I’ll never stay with them again on the principle of protecting my privacy and my face from whatever they do with my likeness. The room was fine, nice even, except the coffee maker didn’t work and the only person onsite was the lady selling coffee in her coffee shop in the otherwise empty lobby.
