OUTSTANDING and exceeded every expectation from the food, room, pool, view, people were beyond any resort I've ever stayed at! We were celebrating my daughter's college graduation and the staff were so accommodating from start to finish! We also stayed at the Builtmoore in Phoenix and with we canceled our nights there to stay longer here. I can't get over how gorgeous the pool is, and the drinks were made to perfection! The price is worth it, and I cannot wait to book another trip with this resort!

The place was great. We arrived late and had no problem with parking or getting our room. Once we were settled we went outside to check out the telescopes that were set up for the night. The guy was about to leave but he allowed us time to check it out. We saw Saturn. Then we hit up the gym…. Very basic but spacious. The pool… such a beautiful view. No more words to be spoken…. Wish to return one day.

Incredible staff, accommodations, food and overall hospitality. My partner and I want to go back every year to magical Sedona. We stayed at the biggest room in the resort facing the creek in the back. It was extremely private and relaxing. We also got massages at the resort and used their gym. Great place.

We had a wonderful first visit to Amara as a friend had suggested we stay there. We will bring our dogs next time seeing as they were so welcoming to fur babies! Loved August who helped us at the front desk. One suggestion is to address guests on the phone and in person with “Ms. Elliot or Mr. Cooper”. It’s a small but personal touch point that we noticed L’Auberge does and if y’all implemented that it would really make it competitive with the 5 star experience!!! Thank you again! Your pool is DIVINE and the feather top beds 🥰🥰🥰

We found urine on our mattress when we woke up.
We stayed at Amara for 2 nights. It’s a beautiful hotel with a great restaurant, but we had a traumatic first morning. My partner noticed that part of the bed near the pillows smelled like urine. I took off the sheets and found a urine stain on the down mattress topper. It was disgusting. We slept on a bed that a human or animal urinated on.
We were moved to a new room that faced the patio but no longer had balcony chairs. At checkout, we were offered a service recovery of the resort fees and part of the restaurant bill that was not covered by our American Express Hotel Collection credit.
$107 for a $359/ night room (+ $37/ night resort fee) is an unacceptable service recovery for this incident. This is the 17th hotel I’ve stayed in this year. Any respectable hotel would comp that night without the guest asking for it.

I placed a call to the Kimpton Amara in Sedona, Arizona in the early afternoon asking some very specific questions. The woman on the phone said to send her an e-mail with the details and that she would forward the message on. I received an e-mail back from another staff member in about two hours--something that I never would have imagined--with all of the answers that I needed and more!
The staff that I have interacted with has been kind, open, informative, helpful, and just all around spectacular! Thank you so much for all of your help!!

A great blend of luxury and comfort in a beautiful and intimate setting. Friendly service as with all kimpton hotels, very nice pool area and dining. Rooms were also great. The gym left something to be desired but was perfectly adequate....just a few things to use. I wouldn't have bothered with a gym if I didn't have little kids anyway. A great place!

I expect more for what I paid. Service was great but the rooms are in need of an update. The bathroom orientation (sink size and lighting) was ridiculous. It is very conveniently located, once you walk up the steep hill. Also some rooms (ours) are a real hall from the lobby, including stairs and doors as you move between buildings. I would have been happy for 1/2 the price.

Great hotel with strong attention to detail. Many unique events, from a complimentary happy hour to a morning coffee bar. Nice hot tub with world-class views, especially at sunrise.
