Honua Kai 322 in Lahaina

We loved the ocean view studio unit! Loved how the doors folded open to make the balcony feel like part of the room. The AC unit our first night did not work and had to be completely reworked. The dryer in this specific unit would not dry the clothes! We tried every setting! 

Overall loved the unit and location but a few things could have made it a 5 star stay!

Very nice hotel right on the beach but lots of rocks there therefore have to walk a bit to get to a part of the beach with no rocks. Strong waves and currents in winter so not good for young kids or beginners swimmers but good for surfing and boogie boarding. You can see turtles swimming near the beach and further afar lots of whales from December to March. Hotel have many swimming pools (and one fun slide) but only like 3ft deep so good for kids but a bit boring for adults. Only one restaurant, it's Duke. And one small shop selling Starbucks coffee. Our unit was on 10th floor in the main building and had a big balcony with a beautiful view on West Maui Mountain. We had a very pleasant stay in this location and would love to come back!

There were some issues with the villa that needbto be addresses with the unit owner. Otherwise, the villa was amazing.

Nice location. Slides and pools for the kids. Duke’s restaurant is very good. We have stayed here twice and would stay again.

Overall experience was great, but we’re family of five and someone had to sleep on the couch

Great layout for the a large family with kids. Multiple beds and areas to hang out in the room with large balcony.

The villa set-up and amenities were amazing, however the loud garbage truck came every 1-2 mornings at 5:30am and made a lot of noise for 20mins each time.

We loved being on the top story and the private balcony with sitting area and grill.

We wished there was more seating near the main pools as the chairs were saved early and there wasn’t a lot of seating open to be able to watch the kids in the pool.

The beach right out front is sandy and beautiful but there are a lot of large, shallow rocks, making it less appealing to swim or try water sports in.

The grounds are very well kept with beautiful plants and waterfalls throughout and the cat colony was a highlight for our daughter.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay aside from the garbage trucks so early in the mornings!

Room was tidy and the view was lovely. Couch was a bit worn and kitchen was minimally equipped. It’s not really geared towards cooking, rather it was well equipped for heavy drinkers. We would have appreciated more dishes, utensils, and cooking tools, pots and pans. With dietary restrictions it’s nice having the option to make some of our own meals.
