Where to stay in Lahaina

This is the best hotel in Maui! It's been my go-to for years. The staff always goes above and beyond to create a warm, inviting, friendly, and hospitable environment. The rooms and views are superb, the food is beyond delicious, and the amenities are top notch. I would highly recommend staying here at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. They are the best at what they do!

Good hotel on the beach. The hotel doesnt have enough restaurants or bars for its size. It is 15-20 minute walk to off site restaurants. Modern rooms. Our ocean front suite had a balcony off the bedroom right on the ocean. However, it was 2 feet wide so you could stand but there was no room for a chair. Compared to other hotels on Kanaapli Beach, and even the beaches of western Maui, the Hyatt Resort's beach was the worst—too many pebbles, poor water quality, and quite disappointing. I chose this hotel after deliberating among several near Black Rock, and the pool was large and excellent. There were also shopping streets and restaurants nearby, making dining convenient. I really want to go back to Hawaii... I'm leaving with fond memories. 💗

The front desk receptionist was very upset. Although I requested to arrange twin beds in two rooms more than two months in advance, Ctrip obviously did not do its job well. Three generations of grandparents and grandchildren came out for vacation, but they only arranged two large beds. How could people sleep? Poolarea is more 5* than 4*, 2 restaurants very nice and very good food, nice bar, good breakfast at starbucks, beach very beautiful no rocks just sand and waves and save swimming no currents, we saw turtels and manta rays, very friendly staff

The rooms are nice but there was no cookout and no oven so one has to use a communal kitchen on the ground floor. The property needs some touch ups. The beach in front of the resort has a lot of reef which can be nice if you're a good swimmer and snorkeling! Overall a great experience!

We always enjoy our stay at Marriott. We stayed in a newly renovated 1 bedroom in the lanai tower. It was very good. Everything in the unit was first class , except for the small fridge with no ice maker. The other crazy thing was there is no stove or hot plate to cook with. I've been here many times, and it's still wonderful! However, it's a shame that the counter for Japanese people that used to be there is no longer there, but I still think this is the No. 1 hotel on Maui. Loved the free green trolley to get around nearby resorts and the beach. The bungalow was very spacious for 4 single girls with 3 bathrooms it was ideal and even a decent sized kitchen even though we didn't really use it. The beach was just after the pool and the other shops near reception were very handy. The Luau was nice with a surprise upgrade in seats and was an interesting performance.

Overall we had a great stay. The Staff, especially at the restaurant, was awesome - always happy, cheerful, helpful! The views were awesome. I came here with my wife and daughter. The room was unexpectedly large and I could play hide-and-seek in it. The facilities are complete and the hotel is very convenient to the nearby shopping street. I highly recommend it.

Loved our stay at The Whaler! Unit was clean, well maintained and perfect for two people. It had everything we needed and the resort grounds were beautiful. Fabulous ocean front condo on the top floor. No better location, 2 minutes walk to the Whalers Village and right on one the best beaches in Maui. Beautiful view and nice condo. You can walk to Whalers Village to shop and eat. Several restaurants you can walk to. Black Rock is a short walk to watch cliff jumpers. Only problem was the payment. They charged us twice for deposit.

This hotel was nice for our week's trip to Maui. The suite was nice with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. It was nice to have a large pool right outside and close access to the beach. One negative of the pool is that the hotel staff does not enforce the "no reserving spots" People put their towels and bags on chairs before 8AM and don't even show up to the pool until hours later. Room very nice and beach access great, but even with a 4:00 check in our room was not ready. The bar was not open at the tower we stayed in and the other pool bar closed early.

Room was in good condition, but the pool nearest this part of the complex was closed for repair (without any prior warning). Also, our front desk worker that checked is in was very unfriendly.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cleaning staff were excellent. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were too hard. Most of all my husband and I enjoyed being able to walk so easily to many places. The pool was good. We don't swim but enjoyed getting wet and sunbathing. Loved the view. How do I joined to get the Marriott points?

Room was a bit dirty when we got there, a bit of mold on the shower, drawers used for their old storage, out of date tv, dvd player intermittently opened and closed, front desk wasn’t very helpful with requests. The beach is beautiful and the location is nice for shopping and beaches. Felt like i stepped back into 2002 in the room. Not a bad stay but you’re only paying for the view.

This place was advertised as beachfront and I even paid extra since it was advertised as beachfront. The tiny glimpse of beach was from a window on the staircase and an obstructed view from the bedroom.

We loved the ocean view studio unit! Loved how the doors folded open to make the balcony feel like part of the room. The AC unit our first night did not work and had to be completely reworked. The dryer in this specific unit would not dry the clothes! We tried every setting!  Overall loved the unit and location but a few things could have made it a 5 star stay!

I love it here! I came here a few years ago for my honeymoon, and we came back again but brought our little one and grandma! Beautiful walk to the beach, or can get a ride from the golf cart. Definitely staying here again!

We had a great stay at Napili Sunset Beachfront Resort for our honeymoon. My husband and I stayed in a 1 bedroom with loft apartment. The room was very clean and comfortable, and you really can't beat the proximity to the beach. We went to Napili Plaza almost daily for food and essentials - the market nearby is great too. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again! Mahalo!

The complex is small with a private lawn overlooking the ocean, and fairly easy beach access in spite of the stairs being unavailable during our stay. Great staff/service, complete facilities (except pool), location is a bit far from the airport but we braved the almost 1.5hr back to the airport and honestly, it wasn't that bad - it's quite empty coming from North. Few options for restaurants so it's a good opportunity to cook! We'll come back here and book a car rental for sure.

I stayed here during the Maui Marathon in 2015. The room is large and the area is quiet, perfect for my post run relaxation.
