Glen
Great location, near the action (French quarter) not in the middle of it. very good breakfast.
Tim
Don't be deceived by the outside - this place is beautiful, the hosts friendly, the rooms wonderful, and the breakfast delicious. And a short walk to Frenchman Street.

Excellent! Excellent experience. Of all the Bed and Breakfasts I've been to, this was, hands down, the best one yet. Michelle was so accommodating. Always there to answer questions and give recommendations of where to go. We LOVED the food (and what a supportive husband to come up and help her cook breakfast each morning-- we enjoyed Bob too!) It was clean. A great space for the 8 family members we had staying there. Close and safe walking distance to all the "things to do and see" in New Orleans (our eldest with us was 84 yrs old). Loved the front porch for "happy hour." We will definitely stay here again and recommend this to ANYONE traveling to New Orleans.

We just returned from 2 weeks at Elysian Fields Inn. We stayed in the suite room. This was our third visit to EFI and the first since Michelle and Bob have been the innkeepers. The short answer is “book it.” Here are a few more details. Bob and Michelle have made some terrific improvements to EFI. One is a refreshing pool and patio in back. After a long day of walking around NOLA a cool dip in the pool and a nap in the lounge chairs are essential preparation for a night of food and music on the town. We loved the new long communal table which encourages conversation among the worldwide guests. There are several 2 toppers if you prefer though. For us, the innkeepers make the inn and you can’t ask for any better than Michelle and Bob. They clearly love meeting new people, welcoming visitors to the city they chose, and exceeding all expectations. Their breakfasts are “not” continental, but full breakfasts with fresh fruit every day. In 2 weeks we had only one repeat. They are accommodating, too, for those who may be picky or have food restrictions. EFI is in a safe neighborhood. We walked home from the French Quarter every night. The location is perfect if you want easy access to the Quarter, Frenchman Street or the bustling neighborhoods of Marigny and Bywater. We go to New Orleans every year and typically drive there or use Uber/Lyft around town. This year we purchased an RTA pass and had a great time exploring. We used the street cars, buses and even the RTA ferry over to Algiers. (Check out Barracuda Mexican cafe.) EFI is conveniently located for public transportation and will be even better when they get the Rampart Street car line open again. Enjoy your visit to our favorite U.S. city and rest easy if you decide to stay at Elysian Fields Inn.

We loved the location (close to cafés, jazz clubs and restaurants, and with a supermarket just across the street). Our bedroom was on the smaller size (e.g., it could use a second chair) and the bathroom was definitively vintage. This is not an issue in itself because it was clean, but the showerhead was spraying everywhere and it is problematic if you do not want to wash your hair. Also, it did have an aveda product, but unfortunately it had been partly used by someone else.

The breakfast was good, and the living area is spacious and nice. We understand the back patio cannot be accessible 24/7 because of noise-related issues, but because it closes at 8pm, we could not enjoy it.

For my first trip to New Orleans I wanted homey accommodations and found that and more at Elysian Fields Inn. Upon my arrival, Michelle laid out a map of the French Quarter and ran me through a lay of the land. She even highlighted well-lit walk ways since I was traveling alone. I had the pleasure of meeting her husband Bob the next morning and being his Guinea pig for the delicious breakfast pictured here. Every breakfast at the Inn was delectable and accompanied by lovely conversation with the innkeeper/other guests. The Inn is an 8 minute walk from the street car, even closer to a bus stop, and around the corner from the famous Frenchmen street. I highly recommend a stay at Elysian Fields Inn and will return for my next adventure in NOLA!

On a recent trip we decided to try a B&B. And Elysian Fields was an awesome choice. Michelle and Bob are wonderful hosts. The room was so quaint and cozy. And the Shrimp & Grits were so yummy.
Great location and within walking distance to everything. We never moved our car. We will definitely be back.

Michelle and Bob were Awesome. Very welcoming, nice, open, warmhearted folks, great hospitality, very informative
When we asked questions about events or where to go, and they were very interactive/personable with us. I stayed for the weekend for my cousin's bachelor party down in New Orleans. Everything about our stay was great from comfort, relaxation, atmosphere, vibe. We had no Problem or trouble when it came to sleeping, and we all slept like a baby. Great Southern Hospitality. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and whenever I will make my way back to New Orleans For Sure I will be staying here. One of the best B&B Inns I've ever stayed in. Thank You Bob and Michelle for taking great care of us all.

This is the best place I have ever stayed. I've stayed there three times and have already planned about. Michelle and Bob are amazing hosts.

Bob and Michelle Hagen are some of the best hosts in the Bed and Breakfast industry. When you stay at Elysian Fields you feel like you are at your own home. We have stayed here several times and would never think of going to any other place while visiting New Orleans. Breakfast is served over a two hour period and is cooked to order. Fresh fruit always accompanies your main course. You can stay at a less expensive Bed and Breakfast but the old addage is true...you get what you pay for.
