Islander Motel in Ocean City

Reservations were made in Feb 2025. We were not told $870 would not be refunded if we canceled until they charged us which was immediately when making the reservation. 2 weeks before we were to go my back went out. I couldn't even sit. I was given a shot a week later which took awhile to give me any relief. We called and explained situation and advised we could provide proof so we were told a medical emergency would be given for investigation. Never heard a word for 3 weeks and then received a response that after their investigation we were told, before we paid of the refund policy so nothing would be honored. THIS WAS LIE AFTER LIE! No refund policy given until they had our money and NO investigation!
And I am sure they probably rented our room out so they double dipped! I would not recommend this place to anyone! Very cold hearted people!

Shittiest hotel I ever seen
Well, I booked a room over the phone and they forgot to tell me about the extra hundred dollar security deposit, but then I went to check into my room. I found bedbugs all over the room and the room smelled like mold and mildew I asked for a full refund. Staff was rude to me ignored us, punched out and left. I believe she also lied to us because she said she had to call the manager, but yet no manager talked to us. Posted photos of the bugs. I also have a video you can see with the little tiny bug crawling. to add to this, they use this source called the reservations desk to book rules that is also a joke. Then they refused to refund them and they refuse to refund you then they promise you a 50% refund but you get nothing. I will post a photo of a voicemail from the lovely reservation desk.

I rated this stay on the booking site I used and they responded with "why didn't you notify the front desk" like what are they going to do come build me a new room..... The whole room smelled of mold as soon as you entered but I didn't plan on being there much so I said oh well. The whole bathroom had mold everywhere and the vent was just for noise lol thw curtains weren't even wide enough to cover the window completely. They made me pay for parking in their parking lot and for an extra spot even though there were 2 adults checked into the room.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I bought a room off booking.com, and when I arrived there after a 7 hour drive. I get to my room only to find the nastiest black mold smell I’ve ever experienced. I have asthma and instantly got sick from it and had to use my inhaler. I tried to call booking.com, sent them photos of the mold and they told me to talk to the front desk because they weren’t receiving an email back. At this point I was sitting in my car outside of the hotel because I could not stand it anymore. I went into the office and told them about the mold and they offered to show me other rooms. Both of the other rooms had mold and seemed just as bad as the last maybe worse. So I kept trying to ask them for a refund. They kept refusing a refund so I left the keycard on the counter and left. After struggling to find another room for the night I came back. And told them I’d just take the room with the least mold, and the worker was on the phone with her manager and her manager told me that I would be refunded the full amount and to give me everything back. I got my 100 dollar incident money back. And they said they would transfer the other money to my card. I’ve waited over a month now and they still haven’t given me my refund and they were rude and I will never go to a hotel again after this experience. DO NOT buy if your like me and looking for the cheaper option. Get an Airbnb for the same price!

This place is the worst! Never again. The only person that It was nice to us was the manager. The room was horrible! yuckkkk

Ac unit sets off the fire alarm if you “put it in the wrong mode.” But it’s just cheap equipment. Other than paying more for a room half the size of the rest of the motel, this place is a rat trap. Ants in the bathroom, nothing is cleaned, no extra towels or toilet paper unless you go down and get it yourself. The shelves were held together with tacks which fall apart as soon as you put anything on it. The comforter had a big blood stain on it which i have pictures of and didn’t notice until the end of the trip. The manager cannot be reached nor will any money be refunded. Also you pay $10 per day for parking.

The rooms are nasty/dirty charges 10$ extra for parking per day 100$ deposit that still has not be credited back to my account. No wifi rooms stink just plain out nasty! Called they told me to email I’ve emailed and still nothing. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

We have tried emailing, calling, messaging and visiting the front desk numerous times and got no resolution they wouldn't even let me speak to a manager or get their contact info. Our stay was a nightmare. It was glorified storage closet. On the 3rd floor. The toilet didn't flush without taking the back of the toilet off, the tub did not drain and the temp adjuster was broken so you couldn't get a comfortable temperature. There was one foot of space around the bed to walk that's it, the bed was about 3 feet in the air, hard super hard bed, the key cards kept deactivating and walking up and down the steps multiple times to get into your room and across parking lots to get it fixed was less than ideal, the ants, oh the ants were everywhere in the room, we had to pay to park at the hotel and then there was no parking spaces so you were constantly fighting to get one or just not having a space to park after paying. You had to park on the street wherever you could and then walk leaving your car blocks from the hotel. There was no wifi. No clean linens were given to us. When we checked in there was 2 wash clothes and 2 towels not even a hand towel this was for a 4 night stay for 2 people. Hand soap was provided. When you try calling the number on the website it doesn't take you to the hotel it takes you to an automated thing saying enter to win so even the phone number is a scam. When we complained or asked about another room the only thing they could say is another $67 per night for a different room or they couldn't do anything. The staff was nice but told us the only thing they could suggest was to call the number on the site to complain which as stated takes you to a scam. When I told the desk clerk the number didn't work he knew it didn't so why suggest it in the first place. The experience was a disaster. Being a holiday week we booked this room in advance and couldn't find anything else. So we were stuck it ruined our vacation. No one returned our calls or emails. Terrible experience never ever again! I was planning on visiting OC for Labor Day but after this experience I cancelled the trip. Ill spend my money at another beach that had hotels with better service.

Not clean. Checked out a day early cuz the hotel was nasty. Save yourself and don’t stay here. Pool was the only nice thing about this place. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. There is no coffee machine or ice machine. No wifi for any of the guest. Just a dirt place.
