The Vista in Gloucester

This place feels more like a hotel than a motel. It's got an outdoor pool, breakfast room, and little private balconies or porches for every room to provide a beautiful view of the sunrise over Good Harbor Beach. While it's pretty costly to stay here for more than a few days, it's totally worth it. Good Harbor Beach is a ten to fifteen minute walk away, as is the local Stop&Shop. The pool has a couple dozen reclining chairs and umbrellas, and the breakfast room includes bookshelves stocked with various literary works to bury your nose in while you consume muffins, pastries, and beverages supplied daily. The Vista is one of my favorite places on the entire planet, and I would like to thank the establishment for making it so.

Terrific hotel: We'd return! Great view of and easy walk to Good Harbor Beach. Room was clean (did not stay in a pet-friendly room, so don't know if there were differences), and ours has a dorm fridge and 2 burner electric stove. By far, the highlight was the pool, which was AWESOME for our family of 4! With a depth of 6' (max, so no diving), it was a great retreat after leaving the beach when the ocean water proved to be too cold to swim. The pool has the same scenic view of the ocean as the rooms. The reason I didn't give Vista Motel 5 stars is that the rooms don't have central or ductless air conditioning. Instead, they each have a window AC unit mounted in the wall, which means extra noise to run them. We cooled our room all day just so we could shut it off at night to avoid the noise, but it was a less than ideal night's sleep.

Second year I went...w my dog! In September. Great breakfast 730a til 11am..beautiful grounds...Good Harbor Beach close by and views of sunrise and beach Spectacular. Great staff..hope to stay longer next year

I can''t say enough good things about the Vista! From the friendly and amazing staff, to the incredible views, great and over-sized rooms with excellent amenities including an onsite dog park, this is the only place we will stay. We absolutely LOVE our time at the Vista and the staff do all they can to accommodate needs and ensure that your stay is above and beyond what you expect. You won't want to stay anywhere else!

I have now stayed at The Vista twice and would definitely recommend it. While the rooms have a vintage look, they are extremely clean and have a view of the beach across the marsh. The pool area, breakfast area and grounds are also well maintained. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away for fast walkers. When I stayed last summer, I didn't have any issues and had a problem free visit. This year I had an issue with our bed being too hard and I really appreciated the efforts that Laura, the owner, put forth to help us feel more comfortable about our stay. We are looking forward to coming back to The Vista for future stays.

Beautiful, clean, lovely view, excellent staff and close to everything! Our room was on the second floor and had a balcony that overlooked the sea. Perfect place to have a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. We were close to the commuter train and could hop of fir day trips to Salem, etc. I highly recommend this motel!

This hotel had 5 star staff and a 10 star view. Just a really nice, friendly place to stay. Very nice room on the second floor with a spectacular view of good harbor. I was amazed on how they accommodate people. If you are handicapped or have difficulty getting around they move the handicapped spot to your door I have never seen that

We loved the view of Good Harbor Beach from a short distance and the beach was only a five-minute walk. Our first floor king kitchenette had a nice porch to sit and watch the sunrise over the ocean, drinking our coffee. The heated pool and grounds were well-maintained and the staff couldn't be more accommodating.

We had a room overlooking the ocean from a distance but we could see the waves and people on the beach. We had a balcony and a carport which was very nice to park our car and it felt safe. The owners were very nice and accommodating. The breakfast consisted of boiled eggs, blueberry or banana bread which tasted like homemade. Fresh fruit, juices, coffee served outside under a covered porch-like area tables with umbrellas. The pool was heated and the water was pristine. Plenty of lounges to sit around the pool or at tables with umbrellas.
