Fatou at the front desk is quite possibly the nicest and sweetest person I’ve ever met. The attention to detail, compliments, sweet nature but also she makes everything so smooth and easy.
My work put me up in this hotel and I’ve never stayed in a holiday inn before… honestly this does NOT feel like a 2 star hotel. Rooms are super clean, large, renovated, cutesy with a gorgeous city view, gym is fantastic, valet service available and courteous. Honestly I am so so pleasantly surprised.
And the main reason for this post is because Fatou warmed my heart with her kindness. Thank you!

I checked in for the weekend and the process was smooth and easy. Overall, I had a decent stay, but I did notice a few areas that could use some upkeep. In my room, there were a couple of maintenance issues in the bathroom that could be addressed. Around the hotel, some hallway lights were sticking out and didn’t appear to be properly secured.
The snack room freezer also seemed too warm — the ice cream I purchased was already half melted, so the temperature may need adjusting. Similarly, at breakfast, the fridge storing the yogurt didn’t seem cold enough, as all three yogurts I grabbed were only semi-chilled.
On a positive note, the staff were very helpful and polite throughout my stay.

Danny, the Manager, was amazing! His leadership was shown everywhere I looked-from the breakfast buffet, to the front desk, and even when there was a fluke where something needed to be fixed. Btw, it got fixed right away and he explained it to me so professionally and offered me solutions. He even lent me his umbrella on the day of my interview. He truly made me feel at home, and all of his staff(special shoutout to Fatou) were professional and kind. Fatou at the front desk is such a kind soul- uplifting and positive. The cleaners clean the room amazing. The breakfast buffet ran smoothly, and no noise. The beds were so comfy and some rooms have a view of the west side of Manhattan! Also, there’s security at all of the entrances which is really reassuring for I was traveling alone. This hotel should honestly be bumped to a 3 star hotel. If I’m ever in the Tri state area, this is the hotel I will be choosing! 10/10 experience. Danny- keep up the great work and take good care of Fatou.

Over all the Hotel was very good, the room was clean and appropriately sized, with a microwave and a Fridge. The room was also quiet at night, which was relaxing. The bathroom was also nice but the shower was a bit janky with only a little stream of water which irritated my skin a bit, cause of the chlorine in the water, but that’s normal in the USA. The Staff was also very friendly and the location is an Amazing for the relatively cheap prize, with two Path Stations to NYC nearby and a short walk to the Hudson River. But for me as a German the Breakfast was horrible there was no Bread except , Toast, and Bagels, which were okay, but nothing like cheese or meat to put on your bread. The only thing they had were sweet toppings like peanut butter, which was alright, syrup and cream cheese, which was the only thing I ate. The eggs were also tasteless without seasoning,so were the sausages. The bacon was pretty good though. They also had free yogurts, which was very nice. I didn’t try the cereal, but it looked also very sweet, so i didn’t really enjoyed the breakfast, because I don’t want to eat a whole lot of sweets right after waking up, but I guess it’s normal for most of the American hotels, so that is just a thing you have to accept as a European, but apart from that my stay was great!

I had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. The room was clean, the breakfast was excellent, and even though my English is not very strong, the staff were kind and helpful. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.
However, after checking out, I realized that I had left some of my belongings in the room. When I contacted the hotel later, I was informed that the item had not been found. I understand that it was my responsibility to make sure I didn’t leave anything behind, but it was a piece of clothing that was important to me, so I felt very disappointed that it couldn’t be located.
Also, when I spoke on the phone, I was told that I would receive a follow-up email, but unfortunately, I never received one. That was a bit disappointing as well.

Pros
Close to holland tunnel and within 10 minutes from the exchange place, journal square and within 5 minutes from Newport mall.
Clean and well kept like a respectable IHG property.. very well maintains the Holiday Inn brand logo
Breakfast spread is good but easily runs out of key food items by 9am on a weekend.
Cons
The entrance is tiny, easy to miss it in the first attempt.
The area around IHG does not feel safe

We stayed here twice as we liked it. Breakfast good with free flow of Coffee and tea. Fresh pan cake made by machine. Fruits and yogurt. Sausage & eggs. Bread & muffins. If you are in a rush, you can carry and pack away. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location good & nice view of NYC skyline and sunrise. Walkable to nearby Mall and train.

Its proximity to the Holland Tunnel and the six nearby gas stations makes it very convenient for drivers. It's a 10-15 minute walk to either Newport or Hoboken station, both offering PATH train services to Manhattan. There's a Target store close by, and the hotel's breakfast is simple but decent. Rooms are kept clean, and coin-operated communal washers and dryers are available; just remember to bring your own detergent, as laundry facilities can get busy after dinner and during breakfast. Whenever we had issues, the hotel staff were responsive and actively resolved them. Overall, for our two-week trip to New York, it offered great value for money.

Never had a bad experience here! Food always good. Only suggestion I would have is get air conditioning in the store it was always too hot.

Great food but the customer service is terrible! First, the guy was on the phone with a friend as I waited patiently for 15 minutes before he could take my order! He clearly saw me but wouldn't serve me until after 15 minutes. And then, I waited another 10 minutes for my food, and he gave me the wrong order! And then I waited another 15 minutes until I could get out the door with my food.

I just went through a bad a experience at this place. I place am order online and after paying something told to check my order. I spoke to the manager and explained that something online went wrong what can he do help me as I'm willing to take most pf the order but i needed a cheese pizza and can i just pay the difference. With no second thought he just stated no and it was my fault and i needed to deal with it. Not even Dominos has ever told me that. I again explained and he didn't want to give it a second thought. I had to get corporate involve.
