Phuc Thao Villa in Hoi An

Terrible ! Tourists beware ! The owner isn’t a sweet man , he doesn’t take care of his property, he is only after your money with his fake smiles , he doesn’t give a dead rat about anything , so please , please, dear westerners, don’t be naive , don’t let him screw you .

First , I had to take shoes off before entering his property ( it’s not a temple , not a private residence , it’s a hotel, business for Christ sake !) , it was raining outside , he did not bother to keep all the Shoes and slippers covered in some dry place , so my socks got wet immediately . Ok, no biggie .

Then I realized that the bed in my room was so uncomfortable , springs literally pushed into my body when I lied down . I told him about that and he suggested I put a topper above the mattress . Great , so why did not you put it before I moved , if you have them .
And now I have to do it ?!

Then there was no hand/ face towels , but he promised to bring them in a few hours (!). And did.

But all this pales in comparison with what happened later .

When I came back around 10-10:30 at night there was a loud bird singing nonstop for the whole night . Not hotel’s fault , but still . The windows aren’t soundproof so you hear not just the bird but also street traffic in the morning. You can listen to the recording . It was hard to fall asleep .

Then I decided to take a shower . I am nearsighted and took my glasses off , the bathroom is very dark and the floor has dark grey marble-ish color . So I began to shower , as I suddenly noticed that my slippers were sailing away . Guess what , the drain was so clogged that the water accumulated on the floor and was probably several centimeters high . Then the hot water ended and I finished showering with cool. I got out and texted the owner . Haven’t received any reply , even the following morning .

Also the AC was so loud that I had to turn it off ( recording)

My sleep was terrible because of the singing bird, bathroom incident and super uncomfortable bed . When I got up in the morning my back hurt badly .

I went down and asked him for a little bit of milk for my instant coffee that I was going to make in my room . It was still a breakfast time , people were eating , nevertheless he handled me an unopened small container of milk with a straw . I thought he ran out of open milk containers ( how could that be when people are still having breakfast ) , but no , he did it because he was going to charge me 25,000 for that milk upon checkout . What a shameless crook ! After all that happened . Needless to say I used only a bit of milk and left the rest in the fridge .

Same trick regarding laundry and breakfast . He offers it you with a caring voice and once you agree he will charge for it later or when you check out . Maybe not much of a money ,but I don’t like dishonesty and indecency. This man has no shame , he is only after your money .

Despite all what happened he asked me if I want to extend my stay 😆.
