We wished we had booked more nights at the Hoi An Golden Rice Villa. We had stayed in Central Hoi An in a much more expensive hotel, but the Golden Rice Villa and its owner and staff are punching well above their weight. What a lovely place.
My wife was not well when we arrived and the owner quickly got our room organised so we could relax even though we were 2 hrs early.
The room is a great size, very clean and the location is great, just far enough from the centre of Hoi An to be peaceful but close enough if you want to go into the centre. The pool area, communal areas and garden are all very well kept.
We saw this hotel on a motorcycle documentary made by a person who rode up through Vietnam. I’m so glad he recommended it.

Room is big enough for a 4 member family, feel comfortable to stay here. However, the whole reception area is too chaotic. Do not try breakfast here. This villa is near Cam Chau market with lots of cuisines so you can ride there and try local food.

Preface: This review is based on the price point of the property. The rating for facilities in particular is scaled; while these are not necessarily “5 star” facilities in the grand scheme of things, they are “5 star” for the price you pay.
Review:
This is our second time staying here; on this trip, we stayed for twelve nights. This hotel might be the best value in Hoi An in this price range.
Pros:
Very spacious rooms.
Beautiful setting; the grounds are filled with flowers and other plants, and the view of the rice fields (especially from the 3rd floor rooms) is lovely.
Quiet. It is located on a small side road, so there is no traffic noise. However, there is an entrance to a small side street right next to the hotel, and the locals have an annoying habit of beeping their horn whenever they approach an intersection, so you will have to deal with the occasional beep-beep. The nights are very quiet, though, with no club noise, traffic noise, etc.
Nice pool that we’ve never swam in. Both times we’ve visited has been during January and it’s too cold to swim; however, it does look quite nice and is well maintained.

The water pressure on the 3rd floor is pretty weak, and it’s a challenge to get the sweet spot with the shower temperature, as the water is usually either too hot or too cold. However, what do you expect at this price?

I stayed here as part of a yoga retreat, with the yoga centre a short cycle around the corner. The rooms are extremely large and cool and the pool was my favourite by far in terms of size. I spent most days cooling off and picking star fruit from the trees to enjoy. Breakfast is simple and tasty and I didn't really want to indulge overly after a week of buffets prior. Plenty of time to enjoy the numberous restaurants and food around. As the name suggests, the location is in the midst of the rice paddies so Buffalo are close by and the location is mid way between An Bang and Hoi An old town.

I think this is our 4th time here? We stayed for 2 months this time and it was wonderful. For those staying long term, the rooms are big enough that you don't feel like you are just in a hotel. Having paid laundry service, a decent sized refrigerator and a gym across the rice paddies makes it feel more like living a regular life instead of just being a visitor. The main street 10 minutes walk away has tons of great restaurants both Vietnamese, fusion and western. Far enough from downtown to avoid the noise but close enough you can bike in 20+ mins. Highly recommended. Cheers to Van and the crew. We will see you again!

Cheap and cheerful ! Massive room for 3 friends sharing , nice owners.
Pool was a bit dirty but my cousin decided to give it a quick once over with the net and the lady and the older lady owners were super grateful and thanked him With water and lots of smiles for our stay.
It wasn’t unhygienic or anything there’s just many beautiful plants around and leaves fly into the water.

Gorgeous jungle/farmland vistas and relaxing by the pool. Rooms are nicer than our last homestay, and just as qffordable. Our host, Van was friendly and a wealth of information for booking day trips, bike hire etc. With any luch, we will be coming back next year!

The location & the hospitality. Van our host was exceptional she took care of everything. The family are lovely they even provided us with free lunch on our first day so we got to meet all the other guests which made our visit extra special.

This villa is stellar.
The location is situated on a paved but narrow road. You will be surrounded by rice paddies where ducks, herons, and water buffalo spend their day keeping cool. These paddies are accessible by bicycle which are free to use from the villa.
A 10 min bicycle ride brings you to the edge of Hoi An central where restaurants and coffee shops offer any meal you could imagine. I had no difficulty navigating the traffic on bicycle and found the short commute a charming way to acclimate to Hoi An.
5-10 min more on bicycle will bring you to Old Town of Hoi An.

They were able to accommodate my late check-out request (checking out at 6pm) for an additional 300,000 dong.
