Hotel Rixhi in Sarande

“A terrible place — never go there. The way they treated the dogs says a lot about what kind of person you are. The arrogant and bullying behavior towards both the people caring for the animals and the animals themselves was unacceptable. I hope no one ever sets foot in your hotel again.”

My experience at this hotel was deeply disappointing due to the cruel treatment of stray dogs around the property. Instead of showing compassion, staff were seen chasing, yelling at, and even kicking the dogs to drive them away. These animals were not aggressive — just looking for shade, food, or basic kindness.

It was upsetting to watch such disregard for vulnerable animals. Hotels have a choice: to either ignore suffering or contribute positively to the local environment — and sadly, this hotel chose cruelty and inhumanity.

If you care about animal welfare, I strongly advise you to avoid supporting a place that treats strays like a nuisance instead of living beings deserving of dignity. I hope management reconsiders its approach and takes steps to treat all life with respect.

I don’t recommend! We booked it trough the phone with 2 months in advance. We kindly asked if they need money upfront for the 6 rooms to be booked. The lady told us is no need and we can pay at the hotel in the arriving day, also we received trough the email the confirmation . With 2 weeks before our trip, we called the hotel to reconfirm, and we have been told her mother give the rooms , and this is what happens if are you trying to get the rooms cheaper and you are not booking trough ***********. It did ruined our holiday , I sincerely do not recommend!

The location was good, they were hospitable at fist, but the problem started occurring later, as soon as we settled on our rooms. There was poor maintenance (No toilet paper in all of our rooms and the lights went out from three hours straight). We were on an office leisure trip and reserved 5 rooms with the breakfast included and paid beforehand for it. The next day in the morning, breakfast was served to all of the other clients, apart from us. When we asked the owner, she said se didn't made breakfast for us and wasn't willing to. They were rude and not helpful at all.
