Sun City - Q Stay in Gold Coast

Stayed at mantra sun city for 7 nights our third stay here. We love the location just up from the main street of surfers so you don’t hear all the noise & just a quick ride on the light rail to get to Cavil Ave which stops right at the gate of the hotel very handy & only .50c to ride the rail.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was nice & spacious & nice view of the beach. There was 4 of us staying in this apartment but only one chair out on the balcony the kitchen only had one frypan which if you wanted to cook bacon & eggs wasn’t ideal I did enquire at reception about getting extra chairs for outside & a frypan but was told apartment was privately owned that the owner would need to be contacted. The toaster also was so old that halfway through cooking toast it would start smoking.
The hairdryer in the bathroom has 2 setting if you used the high setting it turned off after 10 seconds could only use low setting & have to keep your finger on the button to keep it on its attached to the wall & not much cord to move around so had to stand very close to the wall.
Air conditioning works great in the lounge/kitchen/dining area the main bedroom not at all but there was a fan we found in the wardrobe so had to use that all night.
Beds & pillows very comfortable & great to have your own laundry to do washing.
You now have to pay $20 a day to park your car & are given an allocated parking spot.
Pool area is nice but the indoor spa wasn’t working.
Breakfast at Koastal kitchen was pretty ordinary but snacks & cocktails at the pool bar were nice.
Overall we enjoyed our stay & would still stay again.

We’ve just had a wonderful 9 days at sun city. The views, the pools and spas, the ease of access to the beach and the rail station right out the front all makes for a fantastic stay. we added breakfast, which was fantastic, easy and a great way to start each day. We had a great stay at your hotel. The staff at check-in were helpful and knowledgeable and the facilities were great. Our bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean and tidy. We liked having a balcony with a great view too. The buffet breakfast was great as well as delicious pizza and cocktails at the pool bar and cafe. The swimming pools were great. It was great having secure, undercover parking but it would be better if this was not at an additional cost.

Stayed 2nd time with kids last month. We like it. Big apartment, comfortable beds, air conditioning, free unlimited wifi, underground parking, friendly staff, indoor and outdoor pools, spa’s, steam room, sauna, modern gym, tennis court. Beach two minutes away. Tram outside or ten minute walk to Surfers main mall. Be aware, their “ocean view” rooms no longer guarantee a good view. In our case, all we could see were new buildings under construction which sadly, once finished, will permanently block the view. The manager was very reasonable, offering to move us to something better when available or refund the difference between ocean and regular view. Other than that, parking is paid (not ideal but okay since we got a great room rate), the AC had one temperature setting for the whole apartment (no individual room adjustment), the TV was too small and needs an upgrade (which I let them know) and the indoor spa water stings the eyes (probably too many chemicals, though I note someone else online gave this feedback and hasn’t been addressed). Avoid the water slides, one of my kids got injured 1st time we stayed there. Overall, definitely recommend, will stay again

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place. The staff were very helpful over the phone as we checked in late at night, and they arranged for our keys to be securely stored at the front desk. The property has a unique interior—antique yet modern at the same time. While some parts of the rooms could use a bit of renovation, everything was clean and comfortable. The facilities were impressive, with multiple pools, steam room, and a jacuzzi. And the buffet breakfast did not disappoint. Overall, a lovely stay!

Awesome pool and slides. Tram stop right out front is super convenient.
Room was huge.

The property did not proper exhaust and also vacuum machine did not work to clean the apartment. Other than that it was excellent and comfortable
