Spindrift on the Beach in Gold Coast

I have tried to come here a few times for breakfast but failed to get a carpark or seat. Luckily, I scored both on Friday morning with a friend. The service was pretty prompt and it is a nice interior which opens outside.

I ordered the brekky salad which was ok but not amazing. Perhaps the large amount of beetroot made the leaves a little soggy. I did however enjoy my Coco whip affogato which was a nice treat for a hot summer morning.

The building is pretty nice near the beach and cool decoration, but the rest is pretty average. The service, the food and coffee were not bad but yet not great.
The Avajo Breakfast was okay and the pancakes were bit dry. Yeah.. average place average review I guess.

You'll be greeted by a fairly loud atmosphere. A rather noisy table next to us made it hard to follow a conversation.
The wait personnel requires a steep learning curve on how to deliver plates and drinks - not across your neighbours face. Laziness to walk around the table? Some of them could even deliver a bit of a smile.
Otherwise the food and delivery times were okay

We came in to a crowded room full of locals. We ordered and waited about 45 mins for food. Even though we had 10 $5 Tacos, 10 soft drinks and one beer the bill came to $155.00. Be careful of the extras people they are expensive.

Average at best.
The food was ok. It was flavoursome enough yet not outstanding. The portions were tiny especially for the price. This used to be one of my favourite places on the Gold Coast to dine but they have really tightened the reigns on their portions which in turn means you are paying far too much money to leave hungry. The sangrias are amazing though. And as most people seem to mention the table turnover is a bit annoying. As soon as you sit down you are reminded about the time you have the table for. We knew this before booking but it does make you feel under pressure and isn't relaxing. Then at 5 minutes before our allocated time is up we are told that the next people are already here for our table. I understand the need for high table turnover but I really dislike the way they do it. So with tiny portions, average food and the table turnover thing we wont be going back anytime soon.
