Paradise Isles in Gold Coast

I booked a 4-night stay in Paradise Isles. The place was not convenient if you want to go to Surfer's Paradise all the time. 20-30 minute brisk walk each time, plus the area is so frightening at night especially when you're alone.
I was by my self for the first night, and I couldn't sleep at all. Good thing my friend came over the following nights. Strange apartment/hotel.

Yes they have a pool, but you won't feel like using it because its too small and it looks like a 'display only' pool. And when you think of using it, you'll feel uncomfortable, because there might be some creep looking on you while swimming. The neighbors or the people renting on the upper floor. I saw them looking over, hiding behind their curtains when I pass the gate at night. Gives me chills.

They are not considerate. They did not even allow us to extend even for 1-2 hours after the check out time. Because our flight back to Melbourne was 2:30pm, and they ask us to leave at 10am. I asked if we can stay until 12, even if we pay extra. They said they can't, not allowed. Where are we going to place our stuff for the next 2 hours if we leave the hotel at 10am? We are hoping that we can at least have last hour walk to the beach before we take our flight, but we can't.

If i were to choose again where to stay in Gold Coast, I'd rather choose near Cavill's avenue or near beach. Not half an hour walk away.
Plus in a place that is not a horror looking place.
