Reviews
What really bothered us is the fact that the hotel is located on the ground floor. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors are rental or purchase apartments, but accessible via the hotel entrance.
We stayed 2 nights over the weekend and twice we 'enjoyed' two nightly techno parties directly above us, which lasted until early in the morning. Guests coming and leaving did not take into account the hotel guests and were noisy and people banged their doors. After the first night we were completely exhausted and we spoke to the hotel owner about this. He apologized and would make sure it didn't happen another night. He also told us that we could call the emergency number at reception if it happened again.
The rest of the day we walked through the city like zombies, went to the museums and castles for which we had bought tickets in advance, but due to tiredness we were not able to enjoy them much.
That evening we had tickets for the musical Rebecca in the Raimund Theater but we just fell asleep. Our expensive tickets cost over €100 each. When we returned to the hotel, the reception was unmanned and we went straight to sleep. Unfortunately this was short-lived; again people in the hall shouting and banging the door. Shortly afterwards, deafening techno music sounded again. I walked to the reception and called the emergency number, but heard that the number was temporarily unavailable.
Around half past four, after dialing the emergency number 20 times, we got the owner on the phone, who asked what we wanted him to do... Ultimately he suggested calling the police, but we have neither the owner nor seen/heard the police. Around 7am on Sunday morning it was completely silent and we must have fallen asleep. We woke up just before 9 a.m. and rushed to the breakfast room without showering because breakfast was until 10 a.m. Even though breakfast lasted another hour, there appeared to be no more rolls (several hotel guests also arrived after us, we were definitely not the last). A gentleman went somewhere to get bread and came back with a loaf of stale bread that was so dry it was simply inedible. We tried to eat a few slices of dry cake, but we still had breakfast in the center because it was far from sufficient. All in all, we walked with our soul under our arm for 2 days through 2 sleepless nights, were not able to use our city passes optimally and were not even able to do 20% of everything that was planned.
We are far from luxurious people and have been camping with a tent for 30 years, but we have never had such a bad experience before. It completely ruined our long weekend in Vienna...
Breakfast was good.
Location was excellent.
