Hotel Kapeller in Innsbruck

I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel for a night, as there was so much I wanted to see in the area. I was staying in a village nearer to Salzburg, but I could not see everything I wanted to in just one day around Innsbruck. The hotel is in an ideal location, not far from the autobahn and a short distance to the tram stop. The receptionist gave me a tram map so I would know where to get off in Innsbruck, which was very helpful. The staff were polite and gave me all the information that I needed. Unfortunately I had a double room on the ground floor. It was very close to reception, the entrance and the lift. Everything was fine until 2.30am when some noisy men entered the hotel. That woke me up for the first time. Two hours later noise began again. This time it was the sound of trolley bags being wheeled on the hard laminate floors. Following that was the lift continually going up and down. It was horrendous! And that was my night. The bedroom was very nice, although not as large as I had expected, nor did it have a sofa bed. It had a lovely bathroom and the bed was comfortable for the short time I slept in it. The breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of choice. Each room had a questionnaire to complete and I certainly did that. The receptionist was very apologetic, but that really is no help. I made the point that laminate flooring instead of carpet is an unfortunate choice for a hotel. I also don’t feel that having two bedrooms on the ground floor was such a good idea. I am presuming I was given that room with a hedge right outside the window because I was a solo traveller and only there for one night. It was very disappointing and for that reason I will never stay there again
