City Center Hotel in Baku

Stayed there for 4 days with family. Small rooms, noise during the night, toilets leaked the entire stay, rude receptionist. I got scammed by this hotel - they charged us 35 Mannat per day per person as “City Tax”! That is 560 Mannat of pure cheating. It is nowhere close to being a 4 star! Rooms are worth at best 70-80 Mannat a day. They also force you to pay in cash during the stay as their card machine will not accept the card. I did not face this issue anywhere in Baku. Avoid this place. Much better options available nearby.

Very bad experience. The host asked me on WhatsApp to cancel my booking, and when I refused, they gave me a completely different and dirty room than the photos. They refused card payment and forced me to pay in cash. Totally misleading and not recommended.

I recently had two stays in the property. I booked and prepaid them only minutes apart, and I reserved a Deluxe room both times. The confirmation emails from the popular third party site clearly show this. The first stay was pleasant, and the deluxe room was newly remodeled, clean, and comfortable. The hotel location is also a positive. However, when I checked in for my second stay a few days later, I was not given the room I reserved and paid for. I showed them my email confirmation which clearly showed my prepaid Deluxe room, but that didn’t matter. It was too late for me to be able to cancel the reservation, so I was just stuck. The hotel office refused to answer 6-7 calls from the booking site. The standard room itself was extremely small, the carpet was stained and dirty, the shower moldy, and some things in the bathroom were in disrepair. Other than the bed (which was comfortable), there experience was completely different. I requested a partial refund of the difference between the room I booked and the room I was given and was denied. I was given breakfast one of the two days as a form of compensation, but that did not cover the difference in price and wasn’t something I really cared about. Once I checked out I again contacted the booking site for help, and they once again had trouble getting the hotel office to answer, and eventually told me the hotel would not honor my request for a partial refund. Whether it was intentional or not I don’t know, but I feel taken advantage of by a bait and switch, and the hotel is completely uninterested in even answering their phone or working with me to make things right. I have no faith that in the future I would get the room I paid for.

We stayed at an apartment managed by Center Hotel Baku, just a 1-minute walk from Nizami Street. While the location was convenient, the experience was terrible. Before arrival, the staff forced me to use their taxi service, despite having already booked one. Upon arrival at 12:30 AM, with elderly parents and heavy luggage in freezing weather, they refused to let us drop off our luggage at the apartment first, showing no cooperation. The apartment was poorly maintained, with broken bathroom doors, faulty charging outlets, and an outdated look. No water or fresh towels were provided during our stay. To make matters worse, it was on the 3rd floor, which wasn’t mentioned, and I had to drag four large suitcases myself during checkout without any assistance. The staff was rude and unhelpful, pretending not to understand English. The breakfast, priced at 15 AZN per person, was extremely basic and not worth the money. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere. 1 star.

This is not hotel any way.

Small hotel and very old. all carpet dirty, old, and bad smil. There is no lift. There is no body to carry the bags. There is no lobby. No breakfast area. The only advantage of this hotel is the location in the city center and close to all the services. The bed is uncomfortable. The blankets and towels are old.
