Reviews
the accommodated my request and most importantly very nice and professional they my day after long trip
Nice and elevator or fast even though my room was in that hello aur 28 I never wait it more than 30 second for the elevator very impressive
I am definitely coming back the next trip
- location is great, the boulangerie (bakery) nearby on the said road as "mykoffee" is great. Rogier station is 10 metres from the front door. Small supermarket next door, convenicenstore open until 5am opposite, and 2 fried chicken places opposite (KFC and OCheese)
- communal facilities solid. Free shuffleboard, nice bar and sauna. Gym is a bit lacking, but most mainland Europe hotels are.
- water pressure is GREAT, best I've had
However, they failed on a lot of things in the room. The key things I look at are:
1. Bed/pillows
2. Temperature
3. Soundproofing
The beds are far too soft and offer no support, and the pillows are square, so feel very narrow. As a result, very little support, and if you move in your sleep you will roll off.
The double beds have 2 single duvets, meaning you can't move much.
The thermostat in the room essentially didn't respond to our controls, as even when set to 5c is was still blowing out air of a similar temperature.
Even with the window as far open as it could be over night, we woke up wet with sweat.
As for noise - we could hear people walking around in the corridor, the TV from the rooms nearby, people moving furniture around etc. in the evening this proved quite frustrating.
Ultimately, this meant we struggled to sleep through the night, and what sleep we didn't get want very restful.
Whilst the location is great, and the hotel has some very good things, it fails on the basics.
The minimum standard is that everything is functional and clean, it mostly meets this (temperature control not functional).
The medium standard is that it's good at the basics and decent location (it fails, because of the beds and lack of sound proofing).
The high standard is great facilities, but this doesn't matter if you can't get a good night's sleep...
I arrived very early in the morning and the reception team was kind enough to let me check in to my room after my long flight. I got to shower and take a nap before I started exploring the city in the afternoon, which was good because most stores around there open at 11am. That kind of service alone would make me return to this hotel whenever I visit Brussels again!
