Reviews
1. apartment is spacious and functional, it has two terraces
2. towels and toilet paper are changed daily, garbage is taken out, there are no bugs, not even mosquitoes.
3. the food is varied, there is enough for everyone, the dishes are clean, sometimes wet because they don't have time to dry. Coffee and drinks are decent, the only complaint is perhaps the snack bar and its offer, which is monotonous. Ice cream is good.
4. The swimming pool is excellent, a bit crowded, but wonderful fun for children.
5. the location is excellent, the place itself is beautiful
The hotel is 4/5 for me, great for simple people. I went with my family, my husband and two children, they have the same impressions as me.
Dirt and neglect: rooms were never cleaned during the whole week, towels and bed linen were never changed, trash stayed in the bin until I personally asked for it to be taken out. The entire hotel looks old, run-down, and dirty.
Pool and surroundings: sunbeds were old, with cracked and dirty mattresses, nobody cared about cleaning the pool area.
Restaurant and food: absolutely terrible. Tables were dirty – often we had to wipe them ourselves, staff pretended to clean but didn’t. Plates and cutlery were supposedly “clean,” but still had food remains from other guests. The food itself was inedible: tasteless mush or oversalted dishes. For an all-inclusive hotel, you expect variety and freshness, but here you were afraid to eat anything.
All inclusive in name only: I had to buy food outside the hotel because what was served there was simply impossible to eat.
Staff: unfriendly, careless, and unprofessional. You had to beg for toilet paper or to have the trash removed.
In summary: filth, bad smell, disgusting food, and a complete lack of service. This should never be sold to tourists as an all-inclusive hotel. A total waste of money and nerves – absolutely not recommended, avoid at all costs!
Upon arrival, parking was immediately a challenge. We had two cars but only managed to find a space for one. The website states that parking reservations can’t be made, yet we noticed two clearly reserved spots — which felt misleading.
The lobby and reception area gave a good first impression: modern and fairly luxurious in appearance.
The snack bar had a decent selection, offering items like ice cream, sodas, alcohol, and small snacks such as olives, tomatoes, and ham. However, the atmosphere was uncomfortable — it was freezing inside, to the point of being unbearable. The use of cheap plastic cups and plates made the whole experience feel low-quality. On a brighter note, the hotel offered activities like pool tables, table tennis, karaoke, a kids’ club, and bingo — though we didn’t personally take part in those.
We booked a suite, and while the room was clean, modern, and better than expected in terms of design, we were hit with an odd damp smell as soon as we walked in. On the plus side, there were no bugs, and the interior matched the sleek vibe of the reception area.
The view from our room, however, was a letdown — just a plain rooftop. We were on the second floor (out of what seemed to be six), so that may have been why, but it was still disappointing.
The pool was definitely one of the highlights. It was well-maintained, with features like a swim-up bar and a volleyball court. The depth stayed around 1.6 meters throughout. That said, we noticed people diving and doing flips without much supervision — the lifeguard was often nowhere in sight. Also, the pool closing at 6 PM was a shame, especially because it looked beautiful at sunset and would’ve been even nicer to enjoy in the evening.
Bathroom-wise, our suite’s shower had weak water pressure, unlike my grandparents’ room (in the same hotel), where the pressure was so high it might’ve actually been a safety concern. There was also an odd smell in our bathroom, possibly from the drains.
The hotel’s location is excellent. Just outside is a long path full of restaurants and attractions. Kiki Beach is right across the road. However, a very disturbing event happened — we saw a dead body on the beach, which scared our family and made us avoid the area altogether. Of course, this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but it seriously impacted our experience.
In terms of value for money, we paid €1000 for two “open apartments” (which were basically a suite and a twin room), and I’d say it was worth it — considering the proximity to the beach and all the nearby attractions. The meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) were just okay. They were cleanly prepared but had a very bland, “hospital food” vibe. Again, there was a persistent strange smell in many areas of the hotel.
This last part isn’t about the hotel itself, but it’s worth mentioning: €15 for a cheeseburger, small fries, and a drink is ridiculous. Many of the staff and locals we interacted with felt moody or unfriendly. Sadly, Sunny Beach is full of shallow and unwelcoming people.
Overall a place where I can chose to stay again in the future.
Thanks PomorieSun 👌
