Days Inn by Wyndham Ottawa Airport in Ottawa

When we arrived we noticed an odour in the lobby. Checked in and went to our room. The odour was horrific to the point we were physically sick. Once we started looking around the room we noticed how dirty it was. We booked a jacuzzi tub room and when we looked in the tub it was stained and not something we felt comfortable having a tub in. We started checking the room with a flashlight and seen the uncleanliness around the room. Within half hour we decided to find somewhere else to go. Kids were screaming and running everywhere with no shoes and socks on, no parents in sight. We went to the front desk to talk to them, they were less than helpful and refused to refund us as it’s their ‘policy’ and it was booked through third party. They did offer another room but by that time I was so nauseous from the odour I was not staying there. We ended up walking out and going to a different hotel.

Check other reviews, they are not good. All the complaints line up with what we experienced and we weren’t there long.

I am extremely disappointed in Expedia as well. I contacted them about a refund and they said they would call the hotel, well the hotel said no. I was hoping since it was booked through Expedia and the hotel made that clear it is third party that they would have better customer support. This hotel is borderline scam to get your money and once you realize the condition it is tough luck.

The property on the inside was filthy. Dirty yogurt containers in the elevator, kids all over the floor playing with toys and their food spread all over the place.
The noise was loud, didn’t calm down until late. Have no idea what people were cooking but the smell went throughout.
I had no idea it was being used as a transient for families otherwise i would have booked elsewhere.
Not an ideal situation for families arriving for their stay.
I support what is being done but there is absolutely no control.
Before I forget, the breakfast area in the morning and families carrying loads of food from the area to their rooms was insane.
The amount left after for the customers was small and picked over.

Stayed there before but cannot do it again.

Pillows were poor quality. Room was clean. Adults w very young children running and screaming as they ran up and down hall between 1230am and 3am. Did not get good sleep. Never going back.
