The Garden Hotel Guangzhou Hotel in Guangzhou

For a hotel boasting a platinum five-star rating, the service should at least be decent, right? First, when our car pulled up to the lobby entrance, no one came out to assist with our luggage. I could understand if it were busy, but it was well past 3 PM. Second, there was a queue for check-in with only two incredibly slow staff members at the front desk. We waited in line for about ten minutes before it was finally our turn. Then, a frustrated guest behind us complained, and suddenly several more staff members appeared from the back office, and the queue magically disappeared. I have to ask, is this the kind of service you expect from a five-star hotel? Third, and this is what I found most unbearable: sharing one door for both the toilet and shower is one thing, but having to shower in a small, square bathtub? I really don't understand the purpose of that tub. The water temperature was also subpar, and the room was tiny. The sink, shower, and toilet were all cramped together, making it difficult to even turn around, with the bed practically touching the bathroom wall. Fourth, and this also left me speechless: for a room costing nearly 1,000 yuan, breakfast isn't even included. Could they at least provide slightly better quality combs and toothbrushes? Even budget hotels costing just over a hundred yuan offer better quality toiletries. Fifth, the hairdryer is worse than what you'd find in any Seven Days Inn or Home Inns today. In this era of high-speed hairdryers, this one blew out a burnt smell when turned on. Sixth, there's a construction site next door, and they were working all night, making it impossible for me to sleep. Knowing there's a construction site, couldn't they at least provide something for noise reduction in the room? This hotel has too many flaws. I'll definitely be avoiding the Garden Hotel chain from now on. The outdated and poor facilities are one thing, but the service and amenities are also absolutely dreadful.
