Holiday Inn Express SUZHOU NORTH STATION by IHG in Suzhou

Had a great stay! The room was spacious, bright, and didn't have any strange odors. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the front desk service was attentive and thoughtful. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Definitely recommend!

The hotel is in an ideal location. Nice friendly staffs neat and clean rooms. Breakfast options were excellent.

Laundry facilities were a plus.. as I needed to wash my work wears.

The hotel facilities are relatively new, and we received welcome drinks upon check-in. However, there's an elevated light rail line nearby, and you can hear some noise when trains pass.

My main concern, though, is the cleanliness, and I really need to highlight this. Across several stays, I've consistently found issues. For example, I've taken photos of water stains on the faucet, hair on the bathroom drain cover, hair in the sink (during my second visit), a discarded hair tie, and even hair on the bathroom walls.

For a Holiday Inn, part of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), such lapses in hygiene are truly unacceptable. I sincerely hope they will improve their attention to cleanliness details.

For business trips, I typically opt for Holiday Inn Express. As an IHG brand, their chain hotels usually deliver a consistent and satisfactory service experience. This time, I brought my child to Suzhou for a competition, and the hotel's location was excellent, being very close to both the event venue and the high-speed train station. The facilities are modern and well-maintained. The male receptionist at the front desk was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive; I regret not getting his name. Given how hot it was in July, he immediately offered drinks to my child and the elderly members of our group upon our arrival. The bedding was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate for a quick start to the day.

I'm so glad I booked the Holiday Inn Express. The room was well-designed, with excellent facilities, and it was spotlessly clean. It's about a 10-minute walk from the North High-Speed Rail Station, or a very quick taxi ride. The breakfast was delicious, especially the bagels! Oh my goodness, everyone *has* to try their breakfast bagels – they offer so many flavors, it's a bagel lover's paradise! The front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful, assisting me by storing my chilled items in the fridge. Next time I visit Suzhou, I'll definitely stay here again!

The room wasn't particularly large, but with two 1.2m single beds and an additional single sofa bed, it easily converted into a triple room, which was just right for a family of three. The room had a mini-fridge compartment, but it was empty. On check-out day, I saw staff delivering fridges to the lobby, so I assume future guests will find them in their rooms. The bathroom featured a 'three-fixture separation' design (toilet, shower, vanity), and the smart toilet was very convenient. The TV offered simple and easy-to-use screen mirroring.

The lobby provided amenities like a coffee machine, water dispenser, and microwave. The self-service laundry room was very convenient, equipped with three washer-dryer sets. However, laundry detergent needed to be requested from the front desk, and the wash/dry cycle was quite long. A great bonus was the gym, located right next to the laundry room, so you could work out while waiting for your clothes without needing an extra shower.

The breakfast buffet had very limited options and was definitely not worth its 48 RMB per person price.

There's a lake behind the hotel; walking along its edge leads to a lively food street, where the Future Science Fiction Museum is also located. The evening scenery there was beautiful. That evening, there happened to be a fireworks display in Suzhou, and I was thrilled to watch it from there.

The hotel's location is close to Suzhou North Railway Station; you can walk straight to it from the ground floor coffee shop exit in about ten minutes, making it very convenient for travelers taking high-speed trains from Suzhou North. However, the hotel is not particularly close to any subway stations. It's situated between Dawang Station (Line 2) and Suzhou North Metro Station, and whichever metro station you use, it's about a ten to fifteen-minute walk to the hotel.

It was a wonderfully comfortable day. Suzhou certainly showed its vibrant side, and the night view from our room was truly stunning. The hotel is conveniently located near the North High-Speed Rail Station, making it an easy walk. Our room was very spacious and thoughtfully laid out. All the toiletries and linens were spotless, and essential amenities like toothbrushes and razors were provided. Service from the front desk, breakfast restaurant, and room service was all first-rate.

There's nothing better than relaxing in a hotel during a sweltering summer. The air conditioning here cools the room down quickly, and the Wi-Fi is excellent. Located right above Xifuli Commercial Plaza, the hotel boasts a fantastic location. Restaurants nearby always have queues, and the hotel itself was quite busy, but all the staff were very welcoming and enthusiastic. The friendly male manager at check-in kindly upgraded my room and even recommended visiting Shantang Street in the evening. Plus, with Metro Line 2 right next door, getting around was super convenient, with absolutely no worries about transportation.

Overall, a pleasant stay. Upon entering the lobby, I was greeted warmly by the friendly staff. Check-in was quick and efficient. A key card is required to access the elevators to your room. Breakfast is served on the second floor; however, it was quite disappointing and nowhere near the standard I'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The variety was very limited, lagging significantly behind what other hotels offer. The North High-speed Railway Station is conveniently located nearby, and getting there was easy following the front desk's directions.
