Holiday Inn Express SHANGHAI NEW JINQIAO by IHG in Shanghai

Upon entering the lobby, I was immediately greeted by very warm and friendly staff. The front desk attendant, Xiao Kuang, was especially attentive and even offered me hot water, which was a lovely gesture.

Breakfast: The hotel breakfast is excellent, with a good variety of Chinese and Western options, and the restaurant environment is also very pleasant.

Location: It's quite remote, about 1.5 km from the nearest shopping mall and quite far from the subway. There are no restaurants nearby, so it's very quiet at night.

Parking Service: Parking is free, available both above and below ground. The elevator entrance for the underground parking is hard to find; the signs are near the exit and quite small.

Front Desk Service: Food delivery orders must be received in person; they cannot be accepted on your behalf. Speechless. 😅

A lady at the front desk informed me that I had to personally meet the delivery driver or have a robot deliver it to my room, as the front desk wouldn't accept it. This is unacceptable to me.

Two suggestions:
1. When customers park in the basement and ask for directions to the lobby, they should be clearly told where the hotel's signs are (the signs are near the exit). Instead of just saying, "follow the signs." The reason I called the front desk is because I couldn't see the signs. I suspect the front desk staff has never been to the underground parking lot. It led me to take the wrong elevator and come out in another apartment building. It's fine if the weather is good, but what if it rains? Wouldn't the customer have to walk a long way around to the hotel front desk and get completely soaked?
2. Food delivery is a common need for people all over the country now. It's unreasonable for the hotel not to accept deliveries. I've traveled all over the country, and your place is the only one like this. 😅🤭

If you consider the customer's perspective, there are many solutions. Since you've chosen to be in the service industry, you should strive to make guests feel at home. All reasonable customer needs should be met for the business to thrive long-term.

The room was spotless. The front desk service was excellent. While the breakfast options were a bit limited, it's perfectly acceptable for a budget hotel. It's ideal for business travelers working in the surrounding area.

The room has great natural light and the windows can be opened. It's furnished with a double sofa, coffee table, and a desk. There's a Z-shaped painting on the wall, which my husband jokingly called "Zorro's room," haha. The front desk staff, Yaya Le, was cheerful, enthusiastic, and attentive – highly recommend. The young lady at the bar with the bun was gentle and charming, and very diligent; I even saw her again the next morning at breakfast.

The room was very clean. There's also a free laundry room on the second floor, and the room includes a complimentary breakfast with a good variety of options. Plus, there's a gym on the first floor for guests, which is great for a morning workout. Lei at the front desk provided excellent service, answering questions very carefully. The location is also convenient for getting around. I'll definitely come back next time! ♥
