Flower cake: Delicious, brought some home. Pre-sleep drink: The tremella soup was just right for Cantonese dessert standards – not too sweet. Housekeeping was done daily, and used items were replenished, which was great. They even tidied up clothes left on the bed. Though I left a note asking them not to touch the pillows, they still did. The location is also excellent, with plenty of good food downstairs.

Great location, very close to the train station, metro, and bus stops. The service was excellent, and the room was clean and hygienic. They even provided complimentary fruit and flower cakes. Amazing value for money!

This hotel is conveniently located near the train station, and the lobby is quite luxurious. The room was clean and tidy, the front desk service was warm and welcoming, and the breakfast buffet was good. They offered welcome fruit and pre-dinner drinks, and even gave us a fresh flower cake each when we checked out. My only suggestion would be for them to clean the rooms a little later in the day. (We left at 7 AM for breakfast without our valuables, and the room was already cleaned when we returned, which made us feel a bit uneasy.)

Environment: When checking in, I wasn't able to immediately emphasize my request for a high floor and a room with full sun and a 180-degree city night view. The front desk staff member, while on the phone, checked me in and gave me a room on the 5th floor. As shown in the pictures, 'full sun in the room' – where does that even come from? And the '180-degree city night view' also shocked me. What is there to see? What can you see? When I asked the front desk, they explained that the pictures on the mobile booking site were just for promotion, and the room was definitely correct, just on a lower floor. I was speechless! Are they basically admitting to false advertising on the website? They did say they could move me to a higher floor, but I had already lost interest. I was there for tourism anyway and wouldn't be in the room for long. At most, I'd just crane my neck every day to see if there was any sun. I just advise anyone planning to stay here to emphasize their preferences when checking in. (Even requesting it in advance on Trip.com was useless; I selected it when I booked and resubmitted it a second time, and received a confirmation from the hotel.) Sigh... I don't even want to talk about it anymore.

Also, the showerhead couldn't be fixed in place at all. Due to the unpleasant check-in experience, I couldn't be bothered to complain about every little thing!

The hotel's environment is excellent, and the location is fantastic, very close to the subway station with plenty of amenities nearby. The room was very comfortable, and all the other services were great as well.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations and offers incredible value for money. It's conveniently located within walking distance of Kunming Station and has the reassuring security you'd expect from an established hotel.

The breakfast in the revolving restaurant was a delightful surprise! The views were fantastic, the food was made with quality ingredients, and the staff, especially the male attendants, were quite handsome.

My non-smoking floor was completely free of any smoke smell, and the bed and sofa were very comfortable. However, the bathroom facilities were quite dated. Honestly, if the bathrooms were also renovated, the price would definitely be much higher! 😂

This hotel is incredibly convenient, right next to Kunming Station. Public transport like buses and the subway are easily accessible, and taxis are a breeze to catch. Before checking in, I knew it was an established, older hotel, and indeed, the facilities aren't the newest. However, the service is absolutely fantastic. On our first night, we noticed the sink was a bit clogged. We planned to mention it to the front desk the next day. Coincidentally, a staff member came to deliver some tremella soup and asked if anything was amiss. We told them about the sink, thinking they'd arrange for someone to fix it the next day when they had time. To our surprise, the staff member immediately contacted someone, and they fixed the issue for us right away – truly thoughtful! Not only do they provide fresh flowers and fruit on arrival, but they also offer tremella soup every single evening. Highly recommended, I'll definitely book this hotel again the next time I'm in Kunming.

Let's cut to the chase: this hotel is absolutely fantastic, hands down. For its price range, it's one of the best choices out there. It's only 400 meters from the train station, so even if you sleep in and only have 30 minutes to catch your high-speed train, you'll still make it with time to spare. If you're not specifically looking for trendy aesthetics or only staying in newly opened hotels (this one looks like it's been around for a while, and some in-room facilities are a bit dated, though generally clean and tidy), then this place is an exceptionally good option.
(I'm not sure if it's the Jinjiang Group I remember from way back when.)

The hotel really nails the details across the board, from the front desk welcome to the attitude of staff encountered in the hallways and even room service. They manage to make guests feel comfortable without intruding on their private space. Every staff member has an excellent attitude. They provide a fruit plate in the room and even bring complimentary tremella soup, thoughtfully indicating the best time to drink it. The hairdryer is a Philips, the disposable slippers are cotton with an extra layer of foam cushioning, and there are apparently six types of pillows to choose from... These are amenities usually found in higher-priced hotels (including the real flowers in the room). I was pleasantly surprised that this hotel treats all guests equally; they didn't skimp on service just because my room type was cheaper. They even gave me a free upgrade (around 30 square meters, very comfortable for two people). It's excellent. Besides the slightly older facilities, there's really not much to complain about.

When leaving, they even gave us fresh flower cakes (which both my girlfriend and I thought were delicious). The staff's etiquette upon departure was also spot-on. Many hotels these days have forgotten these basic courtesies that used to be standard for hosts, so it's impressive that this hotel still maintains such high standards and a great service atmosphere. My trip to Kunming overall was not very satisfying, and I don't have much affection for the city, but this hotel, truly, is superb. It was the most satisfying part of my entire journey.

Finally, here are a few photos of the seagulls I took. The seagull season at Dianchi Lake is definitely worth a visit and makes for great pictures. If there are no seagulls, you might want to reconsider.

(Addition: The luggage storage at this hotel is also one of the most thoughtful I've encountered in its price range. They tie multiple pieces of luggage together, secure them with red ropes and poles, and even have a bell to call for assistance, haha! Key takeaway: Discussing service without considering the price is pointless. To receive such excellent service at an affordable price is truly invaluable in today's society. If I come back next time, I will definitely choose this hotel again.)
