MORENIA All Inclusive Resort in Podaca

I was quite disappointed with my stay. In the restaurant there was often no place to sit, which I’ve never experienced before. The iced tea tasted like water, and the food was almost always the same with very little variety. The alcohol station was self-service, with no cocktails provided…you had to mix your own drinks in plastic cups. The hotel restaurant had the vibe of a school cafeteria, and it was very loud.

The staff wasn’t particularly friendly, and the rooms looked much bigger in the photos than in reality. Also, there was no “do not disturb” sign for the door. The hotel was mostly filled with older people, and there was nothing to do nearby. If you want a good bar or some nightlife, you have to drive all the way to Makarska.

On the positive side, the Wi-Fi worked well, the beach was nice, the room itself was decent (even if smaller than expected), and there were two very cute cats around the hotel:)

The hotel definitely needs to be improved. There must be activities. Everywhere is very quiet after sunset.

The property resembles more of a resort than a four-star hotel. Rooms are located in buildings across the street, about 100 meters from the restaurant, pools, and beach. The rooms are very small and basic, but clean, and the food is varied and delicious. The problem turned out to be a lack of hot water between 5 and 8 p.m. (when returning from the beach). We were just after a long journey. This is a well-known problem, and as the staff stated, it affects rooms on the top floors. Initially, the reception played for time, saying they should turn the water on for about 15 minutes and if that didn't help, call and they would send a technician. They were actually hoping the pressure would return to normal, but no technician ever showed up. Around 8 p.m., the pressure returned to normal, and this continued every day of our stay. Unfortunately, there wasn't much time left for dinner. Finally, they admitted they were aware of the problem and offered only free parking during our stay as compensation. I find this unacceptable in a four-star hotel costing around 2,000 PLN (450 euros) per night. Despite prior arrangements, parking was added to the payment, citing a failure to remember the arrangements. If you need hot water between 5 and 8 p.m. (which was very important to us after traveling and swimming in the Adriatic Sea), avoid rooms on the top floors (I don't know about the lower floors).

The villas are great.

The all inclusive buffet is bit of a chaos though. You have to be there when it opens, otherwise it’s impossible to find a table. Food overall is decent. Dessert is the most lacking and has no variety. Staff should also pay more attention to cleanliness. Some of the areas and serving utensils look pretty gross after a bit. Buffet staff is also not very customer oriented at all.

Overall decent experience and by doing something about the buffet and cleanliness it could be excellent
