This place offers piece of mind a great vacation! The location in Mallarska by the sea with easy access to the beach and lovely pool area with sea view and great mountains on the other side. Comfortable sun beds and nice bars! Breakfast is lovely, the cherry on top is the local corner with Istrian Oysters and sparkling wine. The hotel offers wide range of activities for the whole family, arcade games, good gym and also area with free weights, kettle bells etc. Friendly and service minded stuff! Special star to Antonela who served us during both breakfast and dinners, genuine and friendly! Also to the hotel Manager Marina who made the best out of tricky situation facing some challenges with our room reservation, very professional and friendly! This is our second time at this hotel, the experience was great couple of years ago and it still is!

This was our second stay here at Places Makarska and it was just as good as our first. Love the concept of the hotel and the casual, easy going vibe. No queueing for tables, food or drinks this truly is a place to relax. Rooms are great, they have all the basics you may need for a stay plus some additional items available by request. The flexi half board works well & with a huge choice of restaurants nearby we used our credits for drinks and lunch/snacks. Breakfast, fantastic choice of food and the made to order omelettes were amazing. This really is a place to relax with a multitude of restaurants just outside the hotel, the old town & harbour is a short 15 minute walk away. The only real problem & this is only a minor issue is the sunbed policy. Sunbed reservations are not allowed however this is ignored by a large portion of guests, arriving to the pool at 8.30am to find all the beds taken, mostly by towels and not bodies can be somewhat frustrating but if you can't beat them join them!! The pool attendants do try to manage/monitor this & are regulalry seen removing towels left by the invisible guest 🤣

Lovely hotel, staff are very nice and the facilities are lovely and clean. The food is very nice and the half board is flexible. The hotel is in a great location - near lots of shops and restaurants. The only drawbacks are that there isn’t much storage in the rooms (standard double) and the air con is capped (although we appreciate it’s for the environment).

The hotel was really lovely and clean staff were nice. Nikolas the barman around the pool was friendly and attentive. Antun the other barman was outstanding he was super friendly not only were his bar skills fantastic he also recommended good places to visit and reserved us a table at diva Gastro, which I recommend too. Antun could speak amazing English and was very nice to look at too. I will definitely be going back to places hotel.

We travelled here for 4 nights last week, to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday. We were super impressed with the hotel - it is definitely worthy of more than a 3 star. We stayed in a Cherry on Top suite which was awesome and more than adequate space for 3 of us. The breakfast was of high quality and plentiful, with the option of pink prosecco thrown in! All of the staff were super helpful and friendly, but our stand out staff member was Antun at the pool bar. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome - he’s a real asset to the hotel. We’ll definitely be back - a little hidden gem!

The journey from Split to Dubrovnik is quite long, and the remaining holiday balance is relatively reorganized, so I thought about finding a place to rest on the way, and chose this place called Makarska. I stayed for two nights and it was a pleasant surprise.
Environment:
It is still very good, the sea water is also very clear, no less than Brela Beach. The hotel is located on the commercial street of the town, close to the coastline, and the commercial street is also very lively at night.
Facilities:
It is a four-star standard, the public area facilities are more complete, but there is no city swimming pool of the PARK Hotel next to it. The two outdoor swimming pools outside use sea water. The weather in May is still quite cold, and I dare not go into the water. The room is still small, and the 23-square-meter room is also relatively cramped. The design of the bathroom is unreasonable. There is a stainless steel shelf that is actually installed on the side wall of the arm, and the bottom edge is very sharp, which is very easy to scratch the arm. There is no water barrier in the shower room, and the water will flood the Jinshan when taking a shower.
Hygiene:
The public areas and dining restaurant are very good, especially the restaurant is very beautiful, the decoration style is also very holiday style, and there is an open-air deck with a very feeling.
Service:
I bought a package with dinner. In fact, each guest is given a green wristwatch-like sensor, which can open the room door. There is a quota of 25 euros per person per day per room, which can be used within the hotel. If there is no consumption, it can be deducted from the evening buffet fee. Buffet drinks need to be paid extra. If you want to have dinner, the easiest way is to swipe the quota and then order drinks by yourself and pay the bill directly in cash.
Parking in the hotel requires payment, 7 euros per day, and then the reception reports the car number to enter and exit the underground garage, which is very convenient.
The hotel's room service is a bit messy. It starts knocking on the door at 9:30 and then opens the door directly. It is recommended to hang a "Do Not Disturb" sign outside the room before going to bed.

Clean hotel with good service and a substantial breakfast buffet with plenty of good quality food to choose from. The quality of the food during dinner time is where some improvements can be made though, the soups and pizzas they serve are really good but the pastas do not meet the same standard. Luckily there is a huge amount of restaurants around to make up for this somewhat small selection of good meals.

Contrary to other nearby hotels, the pools are mostly out of sight from the public, which may feel more relaxing to some. They are clean and there is plenty of space for sunbathing on the side.

Staff is helpful and understanding, although some staff members do not speak english well.

The view on the pool-side was really good too, especially from the higher floors.

Overall we enjoyed our stay immensely and we can highly recommend it.
