Hotel Sumratin in Dubrovnik

Fantastic hotel. Great location. Delicious breakfast. Spotlessly clean & lovely staff. Will definitely be back.

We’re currently staying at Hotel Sumratin in Dubrovnik and, overall, it’s a really lovely place with a lot going for it. Having only opened in autumn 2025, the hotel feels fresh, clean and thoughtfully designed, with a contemporary style that’s very easy on the eye. The location is also a real plus – close enough to Dubrovnik’s main attractions to feel convenient, yet just far enough away from the busiest crowds to offer a bit of breathing space. The surrounding area is an interesting mix. It’s part residential, part tourist-focused, and clearly going through a bit of regeneration. You’ll notice some older, post-socialist-era buildings alongside newer developments, but also a beautifully updated promenade with plenty of great restaurants serving local food and flavours. It’s popular with both locals and visitors, and that blend actually adds to the charm rather than detracts from it. As for the hotel itself, it’s clear they’re still finding their feet in their first full year, particularly when it comes to service consistency. There were a few small but noticeable inconsistencies during our stay – room servicing varied from a full clean to partial tidying, with toiletries not always replenished. The coffee machine still had water in it from a previous use when we arrived, and the minibar had a price list but no contents stocked (and wasn’t switched on). There’s also a slight lack of plug sockets in the room, so worth being aware of, although there are USB-C ports available (no USB-A, though). Turndown service was provided on some nights but not others, and we had a minor issue with the curtains not closing properly that wasn’t picked up during checks. None of these are major issues on their own, but together they do highlight a need for more consistency in housekeeping and attention to detail. Breakfast, however, is a real highlight – genuinely excellent. There were a couple of small inconsistencies (for example, being offered fresh juice at the table on some mornings but not others), but the quality and variety were impressive. The coffee shop is also lovely, although opening hours seemed a bit variable. It felt like there may be some staffing challenges at the start of the season, as certain outlets (including the coffee shop and bar) were closed during slightly poorer weather. It’s important to say that none of this is meant as a complaint for the sake of it. This is a genuinely lovely hotel and a step up from much of what’s available in the area. With a bit more consistency in service and operations, it has the potential to be truly excellent. One final observation – the staff are polite and professional, but at times they seemed a little tense, as though under quite close supervision. A more relaxed and natural atmosphere could really elevate the overall guest experience. All in all, a very enjoyable stay in a hotel with huge potential. We’d happily return and look forward to seeing how it develops.

During our visit to Dubrovnik we decided to have a cup of coffee and dessert at the restaurant of this beautiful hotel, no regrets, it was delicious, highly recommend, excellent service, very good management!! We will definitely come back and stay in the hotel next time!

Just back from a weeks holiday, staying at the Sumratin Hotel. The hotel is stunning and spotlessly clean. The ambience is calm and stress free. All the staff are very curious and couldn't do enough for you. Dining room staff were so lovely & took the time to make you feel very welcome. This hotel has thought of everything right down to chocolates being left beside your bed each night. Hotel rooms are beautiful & as well as having your room made up each morning ( if you requested it), you were asked if you needed anything for your room each evening. Can't recommend the Sumratin enough.

Had a fantastic time in the city and the hotel made it all the better. Very clean, modern and peaceful. Pool was lovely - overlooking the ocean and I must make a mention of Vinko, Tamara, Sven, Nikoli and the rest of the restaurant team who were great - all staff from housekeeping to reception were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much for them. 110% recommend

A must stay in Dubrovnik staff, food overall 10 out of 10 for us definitely will be back. We only had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights due to being stranded in Dubrovnik after a Marella Cruise strong winds stopped all planes from coming in and out however this turned out to be a great experience and wouldn’t have found this Gem of a hotel.

Wow wow wow. This hotel is a credit to its staff. All staff are very attentive. The food is amazing and caters for individual tastes when required. Our room 414 with a lovely view of the bay was cleaned every day, the bed and pillows super comfy with lovely toiletries. All communal areas are spotless even the toilet areas. The rooftop pool has spectacular views across the bay with plenty sun beds for all. The roof top bar serving light snacks and drinks, a pizza never tasted so good. Well done to all the staff at hotel sumratin, it is a credit to all your hard work, keep it up and thank you for an amazing week.

Our stay at Hotel Sumratin, although it was only for one night, was one of the most magical we have ever had. The hotel is completely new, opened about two weeks ago, and it is clear that professional and aesthetic thought was invested in everything we found there. The hotel is located a 10-minute walk from the Adriatic Sea, right next to a pleasant promenade leading to the beach. The room was spacious, with a balcony facing west for a breathtaking sunset view. The mattress was very comfortable (!!!), and the room itself spacious. Breakfast was very diverse and no less delicious. Don’t miss the tables outside the dining hall. The rooftop pool is a real treat, with sunbeds facing east to the rising sun and west to magical sunsets. The spa has not yet opened, but I have no doubt it will be amazing, just like the other parts of the hotel. The hotel staff speak fluent English and are ready to help with anything you may need. I highly recommend this hotel!

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and the staff - specifically Ana and Paula. The hotel is clean, modern, luxurious with amazing rooms and a fantastic rooftop pool area. This hotel was the highlight of all of the places I stayed at while traveling through Croatia, and I would easily recommend it to anyone or book again myself in the future. Thank you Ana, Paula and the entire staff for giving me such a wonderful experience!
