Souli Beach Hotel in Polis Chrysochous

I was nervous first pulling up late at night in a thunderstorm but honestly I have loved this hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We had a sea view room which was lovely. The beds are fantastic and far better quality than I’ve experienced in 4* hotels. Great size bathroom and shower. The food is great with huge portions. I can understand why people have been coming for years to stay here. The only negative for me was the beach. It’s a pebble/rocky beach which makes it very difficult to get in and out of the sea. A little wooden jetty would be perfect for guests to get over the rocks into the sea. A short walk to the harbour. I would definitely stay here again and will be sorry to leave tomorrow

The reviews I read online led me to believe this was a great hotel. Well, I would not use the word great, okay maybe but not great. The location of the hotel is good, as you are right on the sea front but that is about as good as it gets. Despite having the word Soul in the hotel name, this is exactly what it lacks. There was just no atmosphere at the hotel at all. There was no music round the pool or in the outdoor restaurant so everywhere was deathly silent. Now I am not saying you need loud music blaring out but something to break up the silence would good. The rooms were basic but functional and housekeeping were very good. The sunbeds were showing their age and many of the blue cushions had tears or rips so need replacing. Beware the sprinklers! If you get a bed on the grass you could get wet as the go off at random times in the day. We paid extra for a sea view and I was expecting a first floor room at least but we got a ground floor. So whilst technically we could see the sea, it was not a true sea view in that sense. The outdoor restaurant was okay to be honest, the food was good, decent value and the staff were friendly. The majority of the people staying at the hotel are in their 70's and 80's with limited mobility. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that but I suspect this is why the atmosphere was like it was. So if you are under 60 and prefer somewhere with a bit of life and soul, then I would suggest you need to look for another hotel. Latchi itself is okay but nothing to write home about, Faros restaurant was excellent and we went there quite a lot. So overall I would say this - if you want somewhere that is very quiet and lacking in atmosphere then this is the place for you. If like us, you like to go in the pool have a laugh and listen to music then this is not for you. Will we return, the answer is no I am afraid.

Basic hotel room but fabulous sea views as booked. Clean. Outside Restaurant serves public and is extremely popular with locals and tourists. Excellent choices. Waiters understand and speak some English Mainly English tourists so was easy for me to make hol friends. Definitely can recommend this hotel and the town of Latchi is a short walk.

Just returned from a 10 night half-board stay - do book a sea view room if possible as it's really worth it for (obviously!) the views, no road noise and despite the balcony not receiving the sun the shade it provided was a most welcome respite from the 30+degree heat. We paid extra for the air-con which due to the room being in the shade was not strictly necessary at this time of year, the safe and the mini fridge which adequately stored our drinks: very small freezer area within but big enough for an ice cube tray (we brought our own.) The bathroom had a shower and fresh towels were provided daily, The bed was probably one of the most comfortable holiday ones that I've slept on and for storage the room had a wardrobe (more hangers needed really) and the usual dressing & bedside tables but could do with a chest of drawers for other bits. Plugs are the normal UK ones so no need to bring adaptors BUT do bring some of those large sunbed pegs to attach damp swimwear to the glass balcony panel as there is no drying line provided which is annoying! The varied breakfast buffet is served in their interior restaurant where you can also eat or just take your food across to the beachside Souli Restaurant and enjoy having brekkie with the sound of the waves lapping the shore: no better way to start the day! This area is where those on Half-board have a front row table reserved for their evening meal: be warned that portions are huge with plenty of choice on the Menu and I cannot praise the quality of the food enough, we tried a variety but my own personal favourites were the Salads (so fresh), Sea Bass fillets, Vegetable casserole and especially the Baked Aubergines - so good: yum! The pool area & Bar are surrounded by loungers & parasols which do get a wipe down daily when the pool has it's early morning clean, people do put their towels out first thing but mainly when going for breakfast although, like anywhere else, there is always a sneaky few who reserve a pair then don't put in an appearance until mid-day! The surrounding grassed area has some beds on it but beware the sprinklers which do operate at sporadic times doing the day so it becomes a game placing beds to avoid them! Do bring swim shoes as the beach is stony with larger boulders as you enter the Sea but the temperature was comparable to the pool so both lovely to swim in. One niggle for us was the lack of atmosphere at the pool bar and restaurant in the evening - yes, it's great to have no blaring music during the day but maybe some local Greek music would entice people to sit and socialise here after a meal instead of walking down to the few nearby cocktail bars. Latchi itself is an easy 10-15 minute stroll away with a pretty Harbour area offering many boat trips, a few nice Fish Restaurants, small supermarkets and a few tourist shops. Just finished a week here. Rooms first: we were in the road side of the building and the road gets noisy from about 5am, not heavy traffic but what there is is loud., suggest ear plugs which solved it for us and obviously the hotel has no control over this. The balcony has sun all day, rooms are large with good bathroom and are cleaned every day, balcony over road if you want to use it, ours had a good sized wardrobe and large tv with Netflix !!!. Rooms are basic but clean which is all you really need.Sea view rooms cost more and are smaller than roadside rooms with balconies at this time of year that get no sun at all. The hotel itself is clean but dated in some areas which if you visit Greece regularly you understand. Food : breakfast consists of fried/scrambled eggs, small pork sausages and decent bacon ( one of the best I have had abroad ), beans and tinned mushrooms. Yoghurts, fresh fruit, croissants and small eclairs, toast, jams with fruit juices, tea and coffee. My only criticism is the granola and corn flakes, I think that’s what they were, which look like they have been in the dispensers a long time and did not taste good at all. For half board there is a set menu which we did not try but the à la carte menu has a lot of choice and some very tasty dishes, recommend the pork chop and sea food platter. There are a lot of greek people come and eat here which speaks volumes. This is advertised as family hotel, well it’s not if you have kids. The only thing for the kids is the kiddies pool, no swings, no slide and no play area. The tennis court was not used at all and could easily by converted for a child play area. Be careful on the grass at the side of the tennis courts as it is watered that often it is like a marsh, very muddy so keep off. The beach is extremely gravelly and shoes are a must. The resort of Latchi does not contain much, there are half a dozen shops for Chinese made souvenirs and clothes made in Bangladesh, India etc. There are a lot of restaurants which at this time of year are not that full on an evening but the prices are not too bad. The foreign cleaning and waiting staff are friendly but the Greek staff not so much and you will be lucky to get a hello out of them which is given grudgingly but if you are a repeat visitor then yes they are very friendly towards those. Most guests this last week made us feel young and we are in our sixties, what children 2/3 that were here were noisy as kids are, did not go down well with the geriatric mafia. Would I come here again, no. The hotel I would use again knowing that the staff may say hello if I was recognised as having been before but the resort is just too quiet, not enough shops as you can do every one in a single evening walk. But if you are getting on and want somewhere quiet then yes come here and if you want more then consider a car hire.

We’ve just spent a week at Souli Beach hotel on a ‘fly and flop’ holiday. It’s straightforward and genuine and a great place for a quiet break, away from resort crowds. Rooms simple but clean (although slightly tired) with great sea view balcony. Plenty of poolside sunbeds (no music) and beachside bar with very accessible covered restaurant. Good direct access to rocky shoreline (reasonable beach shoe snorkelling). Breakfast buffet very good with fruit, traditional, yogurt, cereal and hot drink machine with juices. Attentive staff with established regular cleaning routines throughout. 10 minute walk to Latchi harbour restaurants. We had a great week - it’s a great place to relax.

I stayed at Souli Beach last week of August 2026 with my 8yr old granddaughter. Before travelling I was a little concerned as being solo adult but this was the perfect hotel to meet our needs and I felt safe here. There were no issues regarding sun beds as there were plenty and direct access to the beach facilitated our Snorkelling. The staff were wonderful. An example of this was response to my late night request for a baked potato to settle my grandaughters stomach, having swallowed some sea water. This was provided without issue and my offer of payment was refused. Food at this hotel is excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and would highly recommend this hotel. NB: room was little dated but this was not an issue or priority for me due to minimal amount of time spent in it and other positive factors I have listed.

Great value for money, the location is perfect, a short walk to the Harbour, more resturants & Bars. Very Clean rooms, staff are so friendly and will do anything to help. Peaceful area with shingle beach, food was fantastic and great value for money. Would definetly go back again.

On arrival I was given a information sheet that informed me should I wish air-conditioning it will be 5euro per day. Fridge 4euro per day. NO adverts for this hotel mention a charge. False advertising.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. The service in the restaurant was very quick and efficient, and the guys working there were really nice and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, with plenty of tasty options to choose from. The location is perfect, right on the beach, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We loved being able to relax by the sea and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Overall, a lovely hotel with great staff, delicious food and a fantastic beach location. We would definitely come back! ❤️
