Hotel Golden City Garni in Prague

The hotel is an older building, but it had an elevator and a delicious breakfast, which was nice. The room was clean and I had no major inconveniences during my stay. Overall, I was satisfied with the accommodation.

We booked a room for 3 adults. The room was very spacious and clean with a kitchenette.
Breakfast was delicious and had slight variations over 2 days.

Tram station is right in front of the hotel. 10-minute ride to the charming old city. Otherwise it is 40 min walk.

Delicious breakfast and a great retro room

The hotel looks old. The room is small and I have a rather big suitcase which made things harder. There are no hooks or whatever in the bathroom for you to hang your towels. There’s a smell in the hotel lobby and the room and I don’t know if it’s a bad smell or a really bad perfume. The heater can be stronger and the water can be hotter too, IMO. Provided: fridge, TV, WiFi, hangers, safe, microwave, kettle. As a female traveller, I’m also surprised that this hotel provided cotton pads (those for removing makeup) in the bathroom, I think it’s the first hotel I’ve seen that does this. I stored my luggage when I checked out, it’s just a room that’s not locked, but there is a safe and a sign that says for valuables like laptop and camera you can contact the staff. Breakfast buffet was alright, not too many options. Close to a tram station so you can easily go anywhere. Considering its price and the fact that breakfast is included, this is a good budget hotel, and I wouldn’t complain too much.

The hotel is located in front of the old town, and it takes about 10 minutes to get to the old town by tram No. 9, No. 5, and No. 15. The breakfast is very rich and delicious, and I eat a lot every day. There is a LIDL supermarket within a 10-minute walk. There is a Korean restaurant a few dozen meters away, which is delicious, large, and cheap. The hotel's front desk and sanitation services are great, and they also help to store luggage when you check out. It is a 15-minute walk from Prague Central Station. Everything is good and the price-performance ratio is very high.

Suitable for business travel

It's a little far from the station, but if you check beforehand you can get there without any problems, and there is a map on the hotel's website so it wasn't a problem. Tourist attractions such as the Powder Tower are within walking distance. In fact, the location is perfect because you can enjoy walking around the city of Prague. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby so I don't think there was any problem.

The hotel is good and there is a tram station infront of it, so it is convenient to travel around the city. The breakfast also good. The only thing I would suggest that hotel should provide slippers. Overall it is a perfect within budget including breakfast.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel and each time it has been really great, the welcome is always very nice and the rooms are always tidy and well prepared! The only slight disappointment is the breakfast selection which is quite week and consists of mainly breads and some cold meats but this doesn’t define the rest of the stay

The tram stop right outside the door takes you straight to the centre easily which is perfect and is two stops from the main train station! 😊
