Hotel General Old Town Prague in Prague

The staff were friendly and were able to accommodate our request of an extra bed. Check in and check out was hassle-free and the hotel itself is very aesthetically pleasing. If the rooms had a mini-kitchen, they would be perfect in my opinion.
Parking can usually be found on the street next to the hotel by the Staropramen factory. It is not too far from the main attractions, and the location is quiet at night. Overall, an excellent hotel.

I was surprised that for $80 this really was even better than the photos. Easy check in and out. Beautiful rooms. All of the luxuries. A gem. This is a must stay place in Prague near the river.

Had an absolutely great time there, the lady who received us was a trainee, so she forgot basic stuff like bringing our luggage we had left there earlier to our rooms and we had to ask again for the included bottle of Prosecco, but besides that the service was absolutely impeccable and I would easily recommend the place to anyone. The rooms are delightful and the cleaning stuff does an excellent job!

Bonus: you'd be right around the corner of the Staropramen brewery ...

Our stay at Hotel General Old Town Prague was very pleasant overall. The hotel is beautifully designed, with cozy, clean, and well-equipped rooms – including a coffee machine and kettle, which we really appreciated.

The staff deserves special praise: everyone was exceptionally friendly, professional, and always made us feel welcome. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable, and the facilities left little to be desired.

The value for money was excellent, especially when compared to other hotels in Prague.

The only downside is the location – while the area is quiet and pleasant, it takes about 40 minutes to walk to the main city center where most of the attractions are. However, public transport is easily accessible and helps balance that out.

All in all, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel – especially to travelers who value great service, comfort, and style, and don’t mind being a bit further from the tourist hotspots.

We really enjoyed our stay here and wished we could have spent a few more days at this lovely hotel. The service was top notch! Very helpful and friendly personnel. They called a transfer for us every time we needed one and always communicated via call and texts, which was very convenient. Our room was beautiful (loved the decor!), the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was new and very nice. But the best part was breakfast buffet - I can’t say that I’ve ever experienced anything like it. The variety was incredible; the quality, the taste, the presentation, and the service were unmatched. It made us feel like royalty! I would suggest having cash on hand to pay for breakfast when checking out of hotel (it will make things quicker and easier.) It was hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever had at any hotel! I cannot wait to return to this unique and charming place.

Nice and rustic hotel. Very good to reach by tram (station Andel ~7 min walking). Special thanks to Martin, who absolutely knows his job. From arriving to leaving the customer service was really excellent!! Due to Corona, there was almost no one there, but if you plan to travel I can highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was super good as well and delivered to the room. For my taste the mattress was a bit too hard.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. They staff and hospitality was wonderful and very attentive. They provided welcome drinks, a welcome fruit basket and plenty of assistance on how to get around and what to see. They are very well located to public transportation. We did take advantage of their garage parking since it was convenient and safe. Note that the entrance to the indoor parking is VERY NARROW and is not for the faint hearted.

Breakfast was included and it was very delicious. Aside from the usual buffet, they offered chef specials like French toast, porridge (oatmeal), omelets, etc.we also had dinner here one night and their risotto and chocolate cake was very yummy.

We travelled with our 17 mon son and they provided a comfortable baby cot (travel crib/ play yard). They also offer free babysitting even though we did not use it.

Their room and bathroom were very comfortable and good size. We stayed in a junior suite and had a king size bed (in addition to crib). Bed is very comfortable and we slept well.

Overall, I highly recommend the hotel to anyone and my family and I would stay here again.

Wonderful hotel, not very far from Malastrana. The hotel staff is very kind. The rooms are clean, cute and confortable. Breakfast is fine but it's not included. Possibility to use the hotel parking paying 20€ by day.

Hotel General is a super nice and cozy hotel on the west side of the river. Their personell is super nice and always wants to help you with anything. The rooms have some interesting interiors which means: they're modern but at the same time have and old style appended to it.

The only downside is it's located a bit far from both Old and New Town.

Location is good, though a bit of a walk to old town. Building, room and restaurant were all Good and the "historical generals" theme throughout the hotel is a nice touch, which I have seen in a few hotels now.

What was excellent on the other hand was the amazing staff at this hotel. Helpful, friendly and just genuinely good people.
