Reviews
Staff are very friendly and the breakfast is excellent.
Just one problem, the hotel is quite difficult to find, down a small street behind the Nemes hotel, ask a taxi driver to drop you there.
Breakfast was nice.
Staff is good.
Just a walking distance from Ticket office and pyramid entry via sphinx gate.
Owner is very friendly, due to eid road was closed but he took us to the main road for the taxi and also carry our bags. Help us in all possible ways.
View is also nice.
Budget friendly hotel.
They didn't provide shampoo or other amenities, so you might need to bring your own (though towels were provided).
The location is a little hard to find, but the view of the pyramids from the rooftop is amazing.
The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.
The hosts (who are brothers) were really kind. They broke my bills into smaller pieces and asked me every time we met if I needed any help. I went alone as a woman, and they waited outside with me until the tour van came to pick me up.
The room was clean and, unusually for a foreign country, even had a hairdryer in the room. The view from the rooftop was amazing.
I didn't experience any of the typical Egyptian rip-offs or requests for tips. I'd love to stay here again.
The view from the 4th floor bedroom's balcony is amazing and also from the 5th floor restaurant.
You can watch and hear most of the Pyramids Light and Sound show in the evening - the restaurant gets busy for this.
The room was clean and suitably equipped with kettle and television (some English speaking channels)
The shower in the ensuite was very good.
Shampoo & shower soap provided.
Upon arrival our suitcases were brought up the stairs to the 4th floor reception.
We had welcome drinks and the staff asked us which excursions we would like to take.
A taxi was organised for a return trip to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Also the following morning a horse and cart ride with a guide around the Pyramids.
The breakfast includes cold meats, egg and the freshly cooked falafel was lovely. Also Juice and coffee
There is a notable Police presence in the local area and we were told this is to help keep tourists safe.
The area is quite noisy and music is played late into the evening.
After the Pyramid Sound and Light Show there was a late night music event past Midnight. The balcony doors and windows do not reduce the noise very much. The area is quiet in the early morning before Pyramids open.
The streets around the area are quite littered although this can be typical of other places we have visited in Egypt.
Also as typical with tourist areas in Egypt, there are lots of people trying to sell you tours (inc. camel rides or horse carts), taxi rides or souvenirs.
We tried to minimise our exposure to this by arranging transport through the hotel
Remember the price on everything in Egypt is negotiated so agree a price you feel is fair.
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
Some of the staff were nice, but one man (as mentioned in other reviews) was quite deceitful. He wanted us to book tours through him. He told our tour guide we were not at the hotel, so the tour guide had to wait outside and Whatsapp us to let us know what was happening. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! Same prices for better places in the area.
Two friends and I had a reservation paid three weeks ago for a triple room.
We arrived at the hotel and it turns out that the owner had rented it out😡
We spent the night in two different rooms, in one of them we had to sleep two people in the same bed, which also sank us towards the middle and it was an ordeal trying to rest.
The owner of the hotel, invited us to some souvenirs.
French fries, various soft drinks, chocolate bars and candies.
We asked him a couple of times if they were free and he agreed commenting that it was pure courtesy, a detail for having confused with our reservation.
To our surprise, the next morning he gives us the bill of what we had consumed.
For not entering into conflict we ended up paying him.
The room was clean, not great but acceptable.
The big downside was the excess noise from the street, if we had known we would not have stayed there.
In the bathroom there was a lot of humidity, drops fell continuously from the ceiling, the shower was horrible, the entire floor was flooded and it never dried up.
Two days after leaving the hotel, we had a mishap which prevented us from returning for our things, so the Egyptian police did us the favor of picking them up and taking them to the airport.
To our surprise, we were missing clothes, money and some objects (three pairs of wireless headphones, two vaporizers, a belt, a Diesel brand sweatshirt, some pants, a brand t-shirt, a fanny pack, some money... etc. ...)
We know without a margin of doubt that he was the owner of the hotel, he was responsible for keeping our belongings.
He took advantage of the fact that we did not have time to claim or file a complaint since our flight left right away.
This guy stole and cheated on us, although from the first moment we perceived some bad vibes from him.
I hope that this does not happen to anyone again, of course I do not recommend staying in this place, we are still very indignant, very angry and helpless.
