Ancient Sands Golf Resort and Residences in Hurghada

First Experience here in Egypt. Think we've been travelling to the wrong country all these years. Ancient Sands hotel is amazing. Staff attentive nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent. Rooms are very spacious.Animation team are very hard working to make your holiday a pleasant experience and are so friendly. .Loved it. ❤️💙

We recently returned from a week's stay at Ancient Sands, it is a gem, slightly out of the centre of the resort.
We feel the hotel deserves it's 5 star rating, it felt luxurious and has an amazing team of staff.
On reflection and the reason for marking slightly down, there are some areas for improvement as with all places, and they include needing a better quality alcohol selection, some cocktails were poor simply by the companies decision and not a reflection on the staff, a lack of variety of places to eat or drink, limits you to one place for every meal or evening, the piazza offers snacks, but everything else is chargeable, no a la carte included. The variety of breads are stunning at the beginning of the week, but are not replaced daily, so the bread was getting stale after 6 days, men being forced to wear long trousers every evening, but women ok in mini skirts?? and the aggressive nature of the new entertainment girl was not welcomed including attitude in front of guests and trying to force reviews from guests.
I sound like I am moaning, these are just my opinions on issue I found, however it won't stop us returning, however we would only book bed and breakfast next time due to lack of food variety and poor alcohol.

Ancient Sands Hotel truly is an oasis of calm in a bustling modern world. As a family of five, we decided to escape for a few days of sunshine, and Ancient Sands delivered in every way. The hotel is wonderfully tranquil, with over six pools and beautiful courtyards to wander through and get pleasantly lost in.

The staff are incredibly friendly, and the food — from breakfast through to dinner — was perfect for a family of five. Our room was spotless, overlooking the golf course, and even had its own plunge pool. We enjoyed playing nine holes in the cooler morning air; the course is well maintained and really starting to mature.

In the evenings, it’s easy to take a tuk-tuk into town for around 50 Egyptian pounds, where there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from. Overall, an excellent spot for a relaxing short break and some much-needed winter sun.

This is the best experience I’ve had. I truly have nothing bad to say about this place. It’s very clean luxe, good food and amazing views and pools. There is a lot to do inside and out of the resort. Also they have a private beach where the bus takes you from the resort and back.

But most importantly the STAFF!! They make you feel home. So nice and so helpful. You would think yes but it’s their job. No. This is from the heart and how they really are. I’ve had a great time with them and I feel homesick already and it was my first time! These are the best employees that made us have a more better time! Thank you..

Its our last day at Ancient Sands Resort in El Gouna, we have been here for 10 nights & will be heading home later today! The hotel has a calm, peaceful ambience, ideal for unwinding and switching off.

The food is varied, with a differant theme every evening! We also tried the steak evening at the Piazza where we were looked after by Kerroles, a lovely gent giving great service, with a smile!

The animation team offered a range of activities & the thing we liked most was the choice to take part if we wanted too & they were not pushy if we didn't!  We  tried the aqua & also went to the Mint bar in an evening for the evening entrainment. we particularly enjoyed the music quiz, which got very competitive I must say🤭

Our room was lovely, & we were upgraded on arrival to a one bedroom apartment, It was huge! very comfortable, and refreshed daily to a high standard. What truly made our stay special was the amazing staff—friendly, attentive, and always smiling. A special mention to Henrietta, who looked after us every day in the main restaurant for breakfast & lunch, she was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond, sharing her knowledge of El Gouna and making us feel truly welcome.

A big bonus is the tuk tuks right outside the hotel—only 50 Egyptian pounds, making it an easy and convenient way to get to the Marina or downtown in an evening.

The service in this place is impeccable. Especially at reception and at the golf desk - Martin, David, Ibrahim and Hisham went out of there way to make sure we’re comfortable. Wish the quality of the food could match everything else but still worth a 5 star rating.

Cons Strong winds, the store is far away, to buy groceries you have to take a tuk-tuk or a taxi, deserted Pros Many pools ~5, green, beautiful view, golf course, lagoon, 1 jacuzzi.

Lovely place. Close to marina and amenities. Heated pool:)
