Marina Hostel in Hurghada

Nice hostel with a great atmosphere. The staff, especially Matthew and Mahmoud, go out of their way to make guests feel at home. We really had a good time there!

Some things, in my opinion, need improvement: I found it annoying that people smoked on the entrance stairs. Every time I came back to the hostel, I had to battle through a fog of smoke. Also, the cleaning lady used a detergent that was too strong, which ruined my trousers. Fortunately, I managed to sort this out with the staff. 👍🏽 Third, the noise suppression in the private room is quite poor—if anything is happening on the street, you'll hear it.

That said, I would still recommend this place to backpacker-minded travelers. 👌🏽

This is an amazing hostel, matthew and marina are so friendly and helpful, mahmood is so great and makes sure everyone is included and takes you to lovely restaurants and bars! Theres a sister hostel bedcoin and every night at 7pm we all join together for dinner. Everyone I met extended their stay here!

The hostel isn't well advertised from the street but most local people seem to know where it is.

Up the flight of stairs the communal areas aren't large and almost all the bedrooms overlook very busy main roads.

Despite these unpromising starts what makes this hostel the winner of a global hostel award is the staff. They really are exceptional. They're available 24/7 to help organise travel, SIM cards, diving, you name it. Special shout out to Matthew and Araby who were incredibly kind.

The place is spotless by the way. The internet is great everywhere and the breakfasts are superb. It feels like staying with family. They're just lovely people.

One small suggestion: put the details of the trips in a public place in the hostel so we know what to expect and the itineraries. The desert quad bike experience for example is long and by the evening it's really totally freezing. I was cold and hungry....

It's nice that they change the breakfast every day. Hopefully they can expand the place a bit with some more common rooms!

Great hostel for solo travelers. The staff is very helpful, thanks to Araby, he organized for me the bus to Marsa Alam, since not many can speak English that well.

This is the best place. The staff is amazing. The sweet ladies that make your breakfast every day are literal heaven sent angels. Everyone else is super friendly and helpful with booking excursions as well as great local recommendations.

The rooms and bathroom are very clean. The location is great and convenient. We stayed in a private room for 4 nights and ended up extending so we moved to a dorm and both were great.

I would stay here 100 more times.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Marina Square Hostel during my visit to Hurghada. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the warm and friendly staff. They went out of their way to ensure my comfort and made me feel right at home.

Impeccable experience. Perfect location, 5 min walk to the beach! everythig is around the hostel, from stores to restaurants, cafes, and bars. Exceptional staff and clean hostel. You can be on your own or merge with the hostel's playground. Lovely hospitality from Wisada and Nermine, the great stories of Mo Salah, and fun activities and adventures with Leyla and Ibo. They are dedicated to excellence and made my trip to Hurghada worth my 6 days stay.
