Very poor customer service starting from the hotel manager. In one room, medications and food were ruined due to a broken refrigerator, and in another room the heating was not working. The rooms were poorly cleaned and outdated, there was a very musty smell in the hallway, and the breakfast was one of the worst I have ever had at a hotel. The only positive aspect was the location, but the overall standard of the hotel and customer service was very poor.

The hotel is located in the very heart of the charming historical old city just one minute from the city hall. It is an optimal starting point for sightseeing, particularly at fairy-tale-like but cold Christmas time in Tallinn: all attractions within old city walls are within walking distance. Plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes nearby. The main building, formerly a bank, retains charming upscale ambience of the past. The modern annex across the street has pragmatically designed interior. Safety: entrance door is locked in the nighttime. Elevators in both houses. Good breakfast, served in the main building. Attentive and polite staff. 24-h reception,luggage storage. Family-friendly. The room (annex) was clean and warm, with basic amenities, tee/coffee maker, window shutters, air conditioning. Great value for money. Easy to reach from the airport by public transportation, taxi cannot drive right to the entrance door - need to take a short walk. Depending where the room is faced to, can be noisy at weekends in summer when windows are open (it is a lively street full of small bars on the ground floor). Some rooms have fitting carpets which can be problematic for allergy suffers.

I had arrived with my family on the 17.2 and was welcomed by a very friendly, informative and funny member of staff. I think his nickname was Eeg. Really nice person and actually, one thing that continued to be a recurring trend amongst the staff at the check in desk and at breakfast. Just all smiles and chilled. Our room was great value for money, we were top floor in the classical part of the hotel. Which is actually 20 metres away in another building. Everything was prepared well and they even had put the cot in that was requested. There was only two downsides to this hotel. Firstly. Whomever had cleaned our room had left dirt under the bed and the previous guests airline ticket under the radiator. Secondly. At breakfast the food was pretty cold that had been in the metal food containers. On the first day that is. The second day it was fine, but the second day the cereal had been put out too late and our kids were unable to have any. We got to breakfast at 7am as we had four of our children with us. 7-8am is the quiet period where there are fewer guests around. The view at breakfast is lovely if you're lucky enough to get one of the window tables. Overall 4.5/5. It is definitely worth the stay as the location is fantastic. Literally one of the best spots you can be (and I've lived on Tallinn before). The room was big and full of the amenities needed. The staff amazing. I'd go back.

Another one night stay at Barons. Hestia Barons is really middle of the old town and can be recommended to everybodey who likes to stay on old town center. Staff is codial and nice. Breakfast good. Not anything negative to tell.

This hotel was absolutely perfect. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were warm, comfortable and spotless. The location in the old town was fantastic. We will definitely return to this hotel when we visit Tallinn again.

We had a great stay at hotel barons. Breakfasts were great and all the staff were very sweet and helpful. We shared a family room and when we arrived the beds weren’t what we had asked for. It was midnight but the young woman on the desk sorted the problem out immediately. Some people have Complained about the area being a bit noisy with bars. We are in our 50’s and 60’s and it really wasn’t a problem. Comfortable, clean, central hotel. We’d stay again.

Really lovely location in a charming older building close to everything in the old city. The staff were wonderful as was the breakfast!

Excellent option
Great clean, comfortable hotel in the centre of the old town, making everything accessible. Breakfast buffet was good, big selection of food and plenty of it, and as much freshly ground real coffee as you wanted. Beautiful old world style that I really enjoyed, no down side for me clean, comfortable and quiet!

It was more 4.5 but I don’t want to take a star from this great place - yes the room is small but fresh, yes it is hard to get here with luggage due to brick road, but this is expected from city center hotel located in old building.

Room was clean and modern - fresh and functional.

Location is walkable from the hotel steps. Great to start your day with city center walk.

Breakfast had great variety of fresh local products.
